Sirius rested his forehead against mine. "Oh, Ally."

"I missed you so," I muttered. "I can't believe you're standing right in front of me."

"I was so afraid you wouldn't come," he said and pressed a kiss to my forehead tenderly. "I completely forgot what hope is when I was in there. This is surreal."

"Nothing would have stopped me from coming," I replied earnestly and then I added with a grin. "I can't let you go on vacation with Buckbeak alone, can I?"

Again, he smirked, the tense atmosphere immediately dissolving. "I wanted to say so many things and now I forgot all of them. I can't think straight anymore."

"How do you feel?" I asked, remembering his condition. "Do you need anything?"

He caressed my cheek again, his eyes fixated on my worried ones. "I'm okay. Actually, I'm more than okay now that I experienced what happiness feels like all over again. How are you?"

I absently traced his now even sharper jawline with my fingers. "I'm good, now that you're safe and that I know you didn't forget about me. I was so scared, Sirius."

He pulled me closer again. "I know. Me too. I was so scared you hated me."

I knew that he was referring to his time in Azkaban. Dementors feed on your happiness and I know they left Sirius with nothing but bad and hope-consuming thoughts. He didn't have any happy memory about me that would have helped him cope, just the visions of how I must hate him for what he had supposedly done. My heart broke for him.

"I could never hate you, Sirius." I swallowed hard. "I knew you hadn't done it. I knew it, I just couldn't find any proof."

"It's okay. No one is blaming you, Ally, you had been betrayed like all of us. But that shouldn't bother us now. I want to forget about it for a while." He looked at me again, his hand softly running through my hair. "You let it grow out."

I smiled. In fact, I had, even after I was free from my dad, only kept my hair in a medium length. But over the last few years, I had just let it grow because I couldn't be bothered to take care of it.

"Merlin, you're breathtaking," Sirius mumbled meanwhile, and his eyes took in every detail of me, almost scrutinizing, but I wasn't scared of his reaction anymore. They remained at my neck and he pulled out the necklace from under my robes, the one with the engagement ring that I carefully hid from everyone else. "You're still wearing it?"

I felt my cheeks get hot when I met his eyes again. "I never stopped loving you, Sirius. I never will."

My words must have moved him because I saw his eyes light up and mirror his emotions. He took my face in his hands. "I was so hoping that you would still love me because I love you more than I can say. I can't believe I'm so lucky." Again, he kissed me and I fell into his embrace, fitting like the last missing piece of a puzzle. "Oh, Ally, I can't even express how badly I missed you."

"Do you have the present?" I asked while I fixed my hair in the bathroom mirror, slightly curling it around the edges that were now long enough to reach my collarbone. I knew my dear boyfriend loved that.

Sirius had been the one to get Harry's birthday present and while I knew this admission might have been a mistake, I wanted him to have his way this once. He had been acting strange all week – nervous, tense. Lately, he was even more affectionate and also needed a lot more reassurance of my love. I supposed it was because of what happened with the mission last month... that he was overly worried now. And I understood that perfectly well.
