"Eight fucking teen?!" Aiden roared, his entire body tensing up.

Marley could do nothing but stand there, still as a statue. Ian is 15 years old. It's not statutory rape by any means, but it was still incredibly concerning. Someone of that age could hurt him, pressure him-

"It's not illegal, Aiden! Okay! Please stop! This is why I didn't tell you!"

Aiden's body was thrumming with energy. He searched for some way to release it, striding towards the trinkets on one of their nightstands.

"Because I'd fucking kill him and end up in jail?!" He shouted, grabbing onto one of Gabby's books.

Marley rushed to his side, quickly grabbing his arm before he could throw it, the muscles in his arms coiled with tension. When she met his eyes and looked up at him, his body slowly relaxed. The anger was incredibly violent in his eyes, but it wasn't physical anymore.

He allowed her to take the book from his hands and place it back where it belonged. He slid an arm around her waist and held her against him.

"I'm two seconds away from flying the fuck home Ian." he hissed.

But Marley wasn't terrified of him. Not anymore. She never will be again.

"Aiden he's older by three years! It's not that big of a-"

"The guy can fucking drive and vote, and you're still...I swear on our grandmothers grave that if you don't promise not to see him again right now, I will make sure he knows if he comes anywhere near you again I'll do something about it."

Marley frowned and opened her mouth to speak, but Ian beat her to it.

"It's my choice, Aiden. Do I need to cancel my flight? Because we are a package deal and you're my brother and the only family I have right now."

Aiden was still angry, "That dickhead's parents are about to lose their child if you even think about bringing him here or ever seeing him again!"

His arm tightened around her, but it wasn't painful.

"Aiden." Marley spoke in a monotone, "Please stop it."

The line went silent, and so did Aiden. His wild eyes found hers, and she met his stare calmly. After about 30 seconds, the ice blue finally started to thaw. He took a deep breath.

"Who...who is listening in, Aiden? Why would you let someone listen in to this?!"

Aiden's eyes lit up again, but the heat was tamer now, "Like you have any goddamn right to judge the company I keep. And for your information, she's the only thing keeping me from flying home and tracking that pedo down."

"Aiden." Marley scolded quietly.

"He's not...he's older by three years, not a decade!"

"Put him on the damn phone, Ian. He shouldn't be anywhere near you."

"Well that's too bad. Because we've been seeing each other for three months now."

"THREE FUCKING-"

"Aiden!" Marley shouted, snatching the phone from his hands, "stop it! Calm down!"

"Who are you?" Ian asked tightly, referring to Marley. She observed Aiden carefully.

He stormed back to her bed and shoved his face into her pillow, hugging it and cursing under his breath.

She cleared her throat, "I'm Aiden's friend Marley. I'm sorry if you feel your privacy is intruded. I wouldn't ever say anything to anyone about this."
