An abandoned Ultratech warehouse sat in silence as it rotted in time. The moon's light exposed the innards where two people faced each other. A table remained in the middle, packed with a pile of money.

John Hargensen was at the table's left, with his clothes scruffy and his hair ruffled. Once a lawyer, his world crashed when Black Prom happened, which claimed his daughter, Chris. Since then, he bore his hatred for the person responsible for his suffering.

A woman with pale skin was opposite to John. Her eyes gleam an eerie yellow, emitting a daunting vibe. Her long black hair reached her chest, and a decorative mask hid her upper face. A pair of bladed gauntlets with two talons wrapped around each of her wrists.

The woman placed her hands on her hips. "Only half? I expected more."

"You'll receive the other half once you complete your mission," John said. "So, are the rumors true?"

"Consider them true." She plopped a folder on the table. "It was a risk to sneak into Ultratech."

John reviewed the contents and scowled at the pictures of Carrie. "So, she is alive."

"You must be determined to kill this child."

"If you had met her, you'd see she's anything but a child. I want it quick like you did with that Ultratech protestor."

"You never proved it was me."

"Oh, please. The guy vanished from existence and had webs around it. Impressive."

"Thank you. As for your request, I could wrap Carrie in a web and slash her throat."

"The body and evidence must vanish, and I want her to suffer."

"Hmm, tricky yet challenging."

"I'll pay you extra."

"No need. Besides, I love a challenge."

"One more thing, Sadira. Are you sure I'll be clear once you finish the job?"

"You have my word." Sadira amassed the money and vanished into the darkness.

John glared at Carrie's picture. Soon, you'll be back in Hell.

Carrie meditated in her quarters inside the Night Guard base. She didn't visit the Global Corruption Force Headquarters. What reaction would Rita and Sue express if they learned of her existence?

"Carrie?" a voice called, bringing her to reality. She looked around until she spotted an unusual puddle beside her.

"Is that you, Glacius?" Carrie asked.

The puddle slithered in front of her and morphed into its alien form. "How are you?"

"Okay, I guess. When the stranger brought me to Jago, I wanted to start fresh, but now..."
