Facade

Metal hearts
Plastic minds
Fake facades
Depressed lives

Shattered were the hearts of love,
that virtue no longer held high above.
In that chamber,
which grows cold,
metal hearts replace the old.

Tree of knowledge,
once full and wise,
becomes polluted and desensitized
by society and what is seen
with our eyes.
The tree, once green, becomes commercialized,
turning our brains into
fruitless, plastic minds.

Fake facades
are filled with lies.
Chaos is within,
but we put on a peaceful disguise.
The horrors felt are hidden with
the simple phrase of
"I'm fine."

Joy is stolen.
Bone crushing sorrows
take it's place,
but you can barely tell
by the look on my face.
More struggle with it
than you know,
because we simply don't let it show.
