Sailor

I know we were supposed to meet here, but I wish I'd been able to show up with her. She's running a little late and I really hope she isn't standing me up.

She wouldn't do that. My conscious argues, giving me a little bit of hope.

Marinley seemed to be a woman of her word so I knew she would show up.

I just wasn't sure when.

"Where's Fin?"

I shrugged.

I really didn't know.

And it was kind of making me anxious.

"She'll come, I know it." Clary said with a smile, squeezing my arm.

I hope so.

There was a spotlight at the top of the stairs that you stand in before you walk down. Well, it shines on you before you descend the stairs, trying to make people feel cool I guess.

When the light flickered on I heard everyone gasping and I knew who it was immediately.

I turned and looked at the top of the stairs and there she stood in a crimson red dress that hung off her shoulders, two slits going up her legs showing off how long they were. Her hair was a curly mess, and her makeup done dark yet light at the same time with deep red lips to match her dress.

She was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.

And she was here with me.

Doesn't that make me feel like a million fucking bucks?

Pardon my language.

I started walking towards her and it seemed like she could sense me because her eyes snapped right over to meet mine.

And then she smiled, a beautiful smile that had me lost for words.

Her eyes seemed to glow in the light, making her look even more beautiful than she was. I couldn't take my eyes off her, and a few other guys felt the same. Their dates weren't too happy about it either. Even some girls were staring at her in awe.

That was Marinley though, captivatingly beautiful.

Maybe it's the Mermaid in her? All I know is she's the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen.

God how many times can I call her beautiful in a couple of paragraphs?

She met me with a hug, and I didn't want to let her go.

I still couldn't find the words to say to her either.

"I-You look...wow." I finally got out, mentally scolding myself.

God I'm an idiot. Not my finest moment.

Marinley slightly blushed but held her grin, not hiding the fact that she was totally checking me out.

That made me blush a bit.

"Now I know why girls are always drooling over guys in tuxs. You look hot as fuck."

Did I mention I love how much she swears? I don't swear often myself, but she always does. Another thing to add to the list of things I like about her.

But she said I looked hot.

It was nice to know she was attracted to me too.

"You're late." I told her with a playful grin, never removing my eyes from her as she rolled her eyes, shaking her head with a grin on her red lips.
