"Here" Mekai bought Kyla some ice water
She shook her head, playing with her fingers. Everyone had went home, and little Camryn cried herself to sleep, so Sylvia went and laid her down.
"It'll help calm you down. Drink it" he said
She took the glass and took a few sips, then sat it down. She didn't feel better at all. Looking in his face made her feel guilty for everything. She felt it was her fault, she was to blame for it all.
"Baby, sit down" she said to a pacing Mekai
He was trying to calm her down, and he wasn't even calm. He wanted to kill Eddie and he didn't even know the full story, he just wanted to kill him for touching Kyla like that period.
But Dominic ended up breaking Mekai away from beating up Eddie. He didn't want his friend to ruin his life. The whole neighborhood was watching, meaning there were witnesses.
"How do you know he raped you?" He asked, ignoring her
"The doctors said that's why the bleeding happened. He was too rough with me...they ran some test and the sperm was his." she rubbed her arm
This was still a sensitive subject for her to touch on. She didn't plan on telling anyone anything, now everyone knows.
"Did he- Are you pregnant?"
"No, they ran test on me too. I'm fine" she said, also meaning she didn't have any STDs
"I knew I should've stayed at the hospital with you that night." He bit his lip, shaking his head "Fuck, man"
"Kai, it's my fault. Not yours" she shook her head
"What? You were in a damn coma and he raped you! That's his fault!" Him raising his voice, made her shutter a little
"I'm not just talking about that. I'm saying with everything. If I wouldn't have tried to even get an abortion, none of this would've happened." She began crying
"Baby" he sighed, sitting down and hugging her
"I'm sorry" she cried into his shirt
She was apologizing for everything, even the things he didn't know. Like the possibility for her having kids being thin.
"Stop that. That ain't yo' fault at all" he rocked her as she cried
Sylvia had finally calmed herself down enough to come out the room.
"You two stay here tonight. It's raining and I don't want y'all driving in this weather."
"Yes ma'am" Mekai said
"Ky, I love you" she pecked her daughter's forehead "We'll talk more tomorrow"
"I love you too" she mumbled, trying to get herself together
She headed in the kitchen to put up the food from the birthday party.
"You wanna head upstairs?" she asked Mekai
"Yeah. You want me to carry you?" He asked
"I'm ok" she stood up and walked upstairs
Once they reached her room, she went straight into the bathroom, taking her clothes off.
"Want me to join?" He knocked on the door
"Please do, I wanna be close to you right now" she didn't try to cover herself up from him
Without any hesitation, he stepped in the bathroom and began taking his clothes off as well.

They laid in the bed, quiet and naked. They hadn't done anything sexual, but they both just wanted to feel all of each other.
"Babe" Kyla felt his heart beating fast as she laid on his chest
"Yeah?" He asked
"Please don't do anything. We already got bodies under our name. I don't need you getting in any trouble" she told him
"I won't" he replied
"Promise me." she looked into his eyes
"I promise, Ky" he sighed
"I wanna hurt him too, I wanna hurt him so bad. I wanna watch him suffer everyday, but I also want a future with you. We can't have that if we're both in jail"
"I feel you" all the while Mekai had someone in his basement
"Thank you." She pecked his lips, laying her head back on his chest
"I love you baby" he held her tighter
"I love you too"
A few moments later, they both were in a deep slumber. They changed positions throughout the night, but never lost physical contact.

"Good morning" Kyla walked into the kitchen, where her mother was making breakfast
"Good morning. How'd you sleep?" she asked
"Better than I thought I would've." Kyla sat in a tall chair at the counter.
"How long did you know all of this?" she asked her daughter, turning her attention towards her
"About two weeks. I thought I could deal with it alone, but when I saw his face I just..."
"Lost it" Sylvia finished "But that's not something you should've been dealing with on your own."
"I know." Kyla mumbled, playing with the napkin she now held in her hand
"When are you gonna tell Mekai about the baby situation?" she asked
Sylvia knew her child, and she knew she didn't like being asked a bunch of questions. But she also knew that her child was hiding something important from her, so she had to ask numerous questions.
"I don't know...I'm kinda scared." For Kyla this was strange, she had never been afraid of anything or anyone in her life
"I won't pressure you about it, but he's involved in the relationship too, it's his future too. He has a right to know" she started making the breakfast plates
"I know, I'll tell him soon" Kyla got up to make the table for everyone
"Tell me what?" Mekai walked in the kitchen
"Uhm...about the upcoming court dates. I want you to go with me. Will you?" She was lying about what she was talking about in the moment, but she really did have court dates
"Of course baby" He pecked her lips "Let me help you set the table" he took some silverware from her
"Thanks" she smiled
