-night before the court hearing
"Baby, why you out here so late?" Mekai walked outside, seeing Kyla on the flat porch
"Tomorrow's the verdict." Kyla stared straight ahead "What if he doesn't get any time?"
"We can always deal with it ourselves" Mekai shrugged
"Kai..."
"Nah, I'm being serious. The only reason he still living is because you asked me not to kill him."
"I know" she stood up, opening his arms, putting them around her "And I appreciate it"
"You betta'." Mekai gripped her butt "Cus you know if it was up to me his ass would've been six feet under a long time ago"
Kyla nodded against his chest "I just hope everything turns out right."
"Me too baby." He pecked her forehead

"You good?" He asked, holding Kyla's hand as they exited the court
"I'm alright" she shrugged "20 years isn't life, but hopefully he pays for what he did. I hope he suffers in there" she rolled her eyes
"I know people that can make him suffer everyday." Mekai pulled her into a hug
Hearing that excited Kyla. "Make it happen" she pecked his lips
"Look at you two, always cuddled up on each other." Sylvia spoke, exiting the courtroom
"Yo daughter a big baby" Mekai chuckled
"Only for you. I couldn't even get her to be affectionate as a child, she used to always have a mug. She was freaky though, she used to-"
"Ma!" Kyla interrupted her
"Alright, let's go." she pulled her keys out "I'll tell you later" she whispered to Mekai
"I heard that" Kyla said from in front of them

Kyla and Mekai decided to go out to celebrate tonight. Their club partners Dominic and Laura were in New York, so they decided to just go out to eat with their parents and Camryn.
"When are y'all leaving?" Camryn asked, wiping her mouth off with the napkin
"In two days. Where you tryna' get us to take you?" Kyla asked in advance, knowing her little sister like the back of her hand
"Nowhereeee" she batted her eyelashes
"What kinda' doll you tryna' get us to buy?" Camryn knew how to ask around things and get you to say yes without even knowing, she was a smart six year old
"There's this new one that comes out tomorrow and-"
"You mean this one?" Mekai reached on the side of him and grabbed a box
Camryn gasped and her eyes lit up. "You didn't!"
"We did" Kyla chuckled at her little sister's reaction
"How'd you get it before it came out?"
"We have our ways. Don't worry about that" she responded "You like it?"
"I love it, just like I love y'all" she hugged them both
"Look at them" Joyce snapped a picture "Looking like parents"
Kyla cleared her throat and sat back. She hoped Joyce saying something about them looking like parents wouldn't trigger her mom to start talking about the whole not being able to carry children situation. Because that would end terribly right now.
"One day we gone really be somebody's parents" Mekai pecked Kyla's lips over Cam's head
"Not too soon though" Joyce reminded
"I know mama"
Clinton started "The baby would be adorable and all, but make sure your both ready to-"
"Excuse me" Kyla got up, quickly walking to the bathroom
She locked herself in a stall, crying her eyes out silently. All this talk about someday having kids just continued to remind her about how Eddie ruined everything. It reminded her that she'd never be able to fully make Mekai happy.
She wondered if her life would consists of unlimited miscarriages and heartbreak. Or maybe her heart would stop breaking for the child she'd most likely lose and she'd just become immune to it.
"Baby, you ok?" Mekai asked outside of the stall
She quickly wiped her tears away "Kai you can't be in here it's the-"
"Girl fuck all that. You good?"
She opened the door "I'm fine, it's just a little overwhelming to talk about right now."
"You know I'm here if you need to tell me anything. I mean anything" while Mekai was saying this, he was keeping a big secret from her too
"I know baby. I'll be ok though." She nodded reassuringly "Let's go continue celebrating"

"Babe, you remember when we first met?" she chuckled, laying against his bare chest
"Yo annoying ass tapped me." he joined in on the chuckle
"I was tryna' help yo evil ass." she straddled him, resting her covered center on his covered member
"You picked the wrong time to play that day." he shrugged, placing his hands on her butt
"Well, is now the wrong time to play?" she smirked, going for the spot behind his ear
He squeezed her butt, feeling himself beginning to get excited.
"Nah, lil hornball." he chuckled, pressing himself into her
"Shut up" she said while undoing her bra "And fuck me"
"I'll definitely do that." He picked her up as he stood, going upstairs
Weird way to end a chapter, but I just wanted to make up for the updates I missed.
