VI - Old Friend

Nancy's POV

Jungkook was being chased by some students when he bumped into me

"Oww!" .... "Jungkook?!"

"Nancy?" he looked at me so surprised.

He then looked behind him and hurriedly stood up when he saw the number of angry students chasing him

"Hurry up! Let's go!"

He helped me up, and held my wrist as we ran

"What's wrong? Why are they chasing after you?"

He answered almost out of breath "You already know I always get bullied... even at our previous school... I just tried to fight back... but they all got mad.."

"How long have you been here?"

"About an hour ago"

"Oh my! You've just arrived?!"

"Yes"

We ran faster as I took Jungkook to the back part of the school

"I think it's safe here"

We are both chasing our breath

We looked at each other and we laughed

"You always save me from trouble. Thank you" he said

"It's nothing. Just buy me some ice cream"

"You've never changed"

And we laughed again

.....

Jungkook and I went to a cafeteria near our school

As promised he bought me some ice cream

"So what made you decide to transfer here? I thought you were homeschooling" I asked

"I was. But it bored me... so I checked a different school.. and I'm lucky I've found you here"

"Just admit you really followed me here" I teased chuckling

"What if I really did?" he asked

I looked at him and slapped his head "Crazy!"

"Ouch!" he complained

"You know my answer.. we've already talked about that" I said as I devoured my ice cream

"I know. I was just kidding" he said, with a bitter smile

.....

"That's it for today. See you tomorrow" says our professor as she gathers her stuff

"See you tomorrow, Ms Moon" the class answered in chorus

JooE went to us excitedly

"Ya Nancy! Are you going to introduce us to your frrriend?" she asked emphasizing the word friend

"Sure, JooE. I'm sure you're going to like him. Jungkook is really nice"

"Oh. You said you were classmates since kindergarten, right?" asked Ahin

"Yes"

"So you're like a couple?" asked Daisy

"Just like you and Ahin?"  I interrogated

Both girls were surprised by the question I asked , that they blushed

"I was just kidding" I said playfully "Jungkook and I are just friends"

Even though Jungkook has been so nice since we've met, I can't reciprocate what he has for me

He's just like a brother
