Shawn isn't gonna come in for the next few chapters. Ya girl has to develop a plot before she can get into it.
Morning Gathering
"Soak you up, wring me out. Make me try a hundred times just to turn me down." Gilinsky sings. The students instantly start singing along. I was surprised. I don't know, he had such a smooth, subtle voice that would be good to fall asleep to. It was so beautiful, and as cheesy as it sounds, unlike any other voice I've ever heard. I really liked it. I could listen to his voice for hours and hours on end.
I was stuck in those thoughts until Johnson started singing.
"Know you well, know you want, Everything for yourself, baby, give me some." He was not made for singing. I mean, he was good, he stayed on pitch and everything, but he just wasn't as good as Gilinsky. He wasn't a tenth of Gilinsky. At least, vocally. Suddenly, everyone fell silent.
I looked up at the stage, nothing unusual.
"Don't make me be-e-e-e-e-e-eg."
Holy shit.
The students erupted into cheers and I smiled.
They performed a few other songs, and I realized that Johnson was a rapper. I wasn't a fan of rap, despised it, in fact. But I enjoyed it because they weren't singing about the usual "fucking my slut". Plus, Gilinsky was singing.
"Thank you guys so much!" Gilinsky yelled. Everyone cheered. I caught his gaze and he smiled. I waved and looked away quickly.
"We're gonna be here at lunch for a mini-meet and greet. You can come if you want, you don't have to. We won't force you to take selfies with us." Johnson said into the microphone. The crowd laughs. Yeah, sure. They were good guys and all, but they weren't good enough for me to stand in line for 30 minutes just to take a picture for them. Plus, judging from the conversation Lily and Sammy had earlier, they already knew them and wouldn't have to meet them.
They said one last thanks and walked off of the stage. Mr. Wilson walked back on.
"Can we make some noise for Jack and Jack?" He yelled. Every single person in the auditorium screamed at the top of their lungs.
He waited until everyone settled down. "That's it for today, students! You're free to go to your first class, have a great school year!" Everyone at once stands up and runs to the door. I was instantly overwhelmed.Lily stands up and smiles at me. "Come on, Leila! We both have science first!"

Once we were in the hallway, I immediately noticed something. All of the kids moved out of our way and stared, especially at me. It made me uncomfortable, and I suspected that I just might be part of the popular group. It would make sense, they were all extremely good looking and kind. At least, I thought they were kind.
I'm not sure how I fit in with them, but I wasn't used to it whatsoever. I went from being at the very bottom last year to, well, this. I could see and feel people's eyes burning into me, but not with disrespect and loathing like usual. More like envy.
"Hey, Leila?" Lily shook my shoulder gently. I look at her. "Sorry, you kinda zoned out there."
"Oh, sorry. I'm kinda tired." I explained.
"That's fine, don't worry about it." She rushed. "Do you like science?"
"I love it!" I started. "My old teacher sucked, though, so it ruined the class for me." I thought back, remembering my old teacher. A mean, old man. He was very similar to the old Simon Cowell, no fucks given about your wants, just his. Very judgmental.
