Sera's P.O.V.
I poured the hot liquid into both mugs and watched all the colors melt into one. I heard Max leave the bathroom and sent him a smile as he reached the end of my hall. "Are you making me coffee?" He asked softly, as he made his way around the kitchen counter. As he entered the kitchen I felt two warm arms snake around my waist and pull me into a comforting chest.
"Just the way you like it." I hummed with a happy heart. I brushed my hair behind my ear before grabbing both mugs. Max let me go and followed me like a puppy all the way to the living room.
I sat down on the warm couch and placed our mugs on the glass coffee table in front of us. Max grabbed his cup before he sat down next to me. I tangled my feet up inside the blanket while I watched him take a sip of his coffee, praying I made it the right way.
His deep brown eyes widened before he took a large gulp. "Wow! That is incredible!" I let out a small giggle. "Yay!" He gently set the mug back on the coffee table before giving me his full attention.
"No one has ever been able to perfect my cup of coffee. Ever. Even if I tell them what to do, they just screw it up." He explained. "Well that makes me feel special." I beamed, letting my head fall to the side. "You are special." He correcting before pressing his lips against mine.
I deepened the kiss enough to get a taste of that coffee. When we both pulled away I let myself fall into his arms. "You're right, that is good coffee." Max chuckled before he changed the subject. "I heard someone broke into the tower. What's that about?"
"Well there is the guy or group, we don't know yet, that has been leaving threatening notes and messages. It's been really personal too, car windshields, mail, Tori's house, even Dylan's work and they didn't just break into the tower, they broke into Sofia's apartment she shares with Dylan too." I explained, still mad at the memory. "Luckily they weren't home but still."
"Do they steal things?" Max asked in confusion. "No, they just trash the place. It's really stupid and the whole team is getting sick of it." I replied, lacing my fingers through his warm ones. "I can imagine."
We both sat there in a moment of silence before Max nearly jumped off the couch. "Oh my gosh, I need to go. I have work early in the morning." He explained, gently scooting me off of his lap. I nodded in understanding. "Alright well drive safe."
"I will, I love you!" He assured, pressing a quick peck to my lips. "I love you too!" I called as he walked out of the living room. Max grabbed his coat and shoes before he left my house.
I let a satisfied sigh out into the silence before picking myself off the couch. I made my way out of the living room and was sure to turn off all the lights along the way. As I wandered down my narrow hall until I landed in my bathroom.
I picked up my toothbrush and evenly spread my blue toothpaste over the bristles. I got it wet under the faucet and then I shoved it into my mouth. After brushing thoroughly, I spit out the foam and rinsed my mouth with water.
I walked out of the bathroom and went into my bedroom to change. After slipping into a black nightgown I let my hair down from it's loose ponytail and crawled into bed. I pulled back the cold covers and snuggled with my pillows whom I had forgotten the names of before drifting into a deep sleep.

I tossed and turned restlessly, sleep had come but it was far too light. I needed a thick sleep, you know what I mean.
Yes I do.
Suddenly a loud crash cut through the silence. My brown eyes went wide and I froze in place. As I continued to listen I heard lots of movement and thuds. I grabbed my phone off my bedside table and dialed Max's number.
"Pick up, pick up, pick up!" I whispered, finally he answered. "Hello?" A groggy voice spoke. "Max, I need you to come over right now! Bring Sofia and Levi too."
"Why what's going on?" He asked, groggy voice going away as concern took over. "They're in my house!!" I whisper yelled, hoping they didn't hear me. "Who?"
"Those people I told you about, they broke in." I explained, quietly slipping out of my bed. "Oh my gosh, don't worry I'm on my way!!" I scoffed. "I'm not worrying, I can breathe fire for crying out loud I just want you to clean up the mess when this is all over." With that I hung up.
The house was pitch black so it took a second for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. Once I could start to make out the shapes of the furniture in my room and see the teal blue walls I could have sworn I saw a shadow run across the house. I expertly slipped out of the bed and swiped up the stun gun I had hidden under my bedside table.
Just for the record, I don't need the stun gun, I could just use my fire but in the past when I have tried to use my powers after first waking up things have gone wrong.
Ha, like that time you tried to cook bacon but ended up catching the kitchen on fire?
I ignored the voice in my head and darted across my room before kissing my back against the wall. I looked to my right so I could peer out the door and into the hall. I didn't have a very good angle but I saw the shadow dance across the house again.
I held the gun beside my head and slowly made my way down the dark hallway. I crept along in the middle of the hall so that if the intruder attacked I could run to either side to dodge it. I froze in my tracks when I finally laid my eyes on the figure. It was shuffling behind my couch with some items in it's hands.
I hesitantly stepped closer, hiding in the shadow beside the wall, but I saw the figure in the moon light.
It's just..... A man?
He-he's not even armed, he's wearing black jeans and a green T-shirt.
And is-is he cleaning up?!
I lowered my gun to my side and relaxed my shoulders.
Well that was a little disappointing.
What am I talking about? He broke into my house!
Head in the game! Maybe he's a cereal killer, who knows.
I looked closer at the strange man who finished putting the lamp back onto the table beside the couch. Then he turned around and I saw his unmistakable face. I felt the gun drop from my hands and hot tears start to from in my eyes, my brown eyes that were unable to leaves the man's head.
"Hello Love." His velvety voice whispered. My jaw remained unhinged, mind surging with disbelief, and heart aching with longing.
Curse you and your distracting face!
