Ch. 3

Khalid walks back in his house in annoyance. He was really heated after Jacob kept messing with him. He head straight to his bedroom. He slams his door, and got in his bed. His mom peeped in.

"Son, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, mom." He answers dryly.

"Is that Jacob boy bothering you again?"

He doesn't answer. She walks in his room, and sat on the side of his bed. She rubs his face.

"Son, you know you don't have to be bothered with that boy." She said. "If he's messing with you, you need to tell someone."

"It doesn't even matter anymore, he thinks he's better than me." Khalid said.

"Yeah, but in all reality, he isn't."

"Try telling that to him."

It was silent.

"Mom, I just want to be left alone."

"I understand."

She got up, and kissed his cheek.

"I love you, son." She said.

"I love you too mom."

She left his room. He turns to his closed window. He stares at it, thinking about Ella. He almost kissed her, until Jacob interrupted him. He was tired of getting pushed around by him. Jaden would protect him, but he wasn't around to do so. He had to deal with it. One of these days he would soon have to realize he has to protect himself. He falls asleep.

11 pm...

Knock knock knock... It woke him up. Someone was knocking on his window. He peeps out, and saw Ella. He pulled up his blinds, and opened it to let her in. She climbs through. He looks out to see if anyone had saw. No one else was out. He closes his window.

"Ella, what are you doing here?" He asked in his sleepy voice.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't sleep." She said.

"Well, you can sleep here with me tonight."

She smiles. Khalid looks at her wardrobe. She was wearing grey sweatpants, a tank top, and PINK slides covered her multicolored socks. She had on a pink hoodie to cover up her body during the cold night. She cuddles with him.

"Why couldn't you sleep?" He asked out of curiosity.

"I couldn't stop thinking about what Jacob did to you." She said.

She had a tear in the corner of her eye. He wipes it away.

"It's okay." He said honestly. "I deal with it all the time."

"It wasn't right for Jacob to do that to you."

"Yeah, but he doesn't care." Khalid rolls his eyes.

Ella buried her face in his chest. He holds her.

"I just wanna sleep here with you tonight." She said.

"Well that's fine, you can stay with me tonight."

She touched his cheek. Khalid cuddles her, wrapping themselves in blanket. Soon she would already fall asleep. He did too.

The next morning, Khalid wakes up to see Ella was no longer there. He looks around.

I guess she went home. He thought to himself.

He checks his phone and saw a text message from a number.

Hey Khalid, I went back home. Thx for cuddling with me tonight, it was great! 💖
