Chapter 12

-Veronica-

The next couple of days went smoothly with Athenas change. She can talk your head off if you'll let her. Janet says she is like another version of me but smaller.

-Janet-

God this girl just keeps on talking and talking she won't stop. This morning she's been watching me get ready for rehearsals of my new song if

"Mommy where you going?" Athena asked me

"I have to go to rehearsals"

"For what?"

"For a new song"

"Your a singer?"

"Mhm and a dancer"

"Can I come with?!"

"I don't know sweety I don't know if mommy will let you. You might have to ask her"

She got off the vanity and walked to where veronica is

-Veronica-

"Mommy?"

"Yes sweety?"

"Can I go to rehearsals with mommy?"

I sighed and turned around to look at her

"Athena honey what mommy does is very important to her especially. I don't want you to be a distraction to her. She needs to be concentrated on what she's doing. I hope you understand"

She crossed her arms "but I don't wanna go to your work. That's boring"

"My job isn't boring honey"

"Yes it is. All you do is just there at your computer all day"

"Honey that's because we are starting a new project. We have to figure out the kinks in the project"

"Can I see what the actual project is today?"

"Well it happens to be your lucky day"

"Why?"

"You'll see" I smiled and turned around and finished my makeup. Once I was done getting ready I said my goodbye to Janet and held Athenas hand to the car.

-At work-

"Well there she is. Commander and chief"

"Hi" I hugged him

"And who is this cute one?"

"This is Athena my daughter"

"Hello. I'm John. Nice to meet you" he held out his hand

"Shake his hand darling" she walked behind my leg

"Someone's being shy huh. You ready to go?"

"Yep"

"Alright you go get your wet suit on and get In the sub and we'll get this started"

I started to walk away

"Mommy?"

I walked back towards her "It's ok honey I'll be fine. When I'm doing my job look at that big screen up there" I pointed to a big screen on the wall.

"Ok"

- Athena-

I watched mommy as she walked off to do her job. I saw her walk down a ladder into a big car.

"Athena can you hear me?"

The weird man gave me a weird ear piece and put it on me

"Say something in that" he said while pointing to something

"Mommy?"

"Hello darling. Are you ready to see what mommy really does?"

"Yeah"

A little while later I see her under water

"Mommy your gonna drown!"

"I'm ok honey. This is a submarine it helps me to breath under water and to travel faster"

"Oooh"

While I was doing my thing I felt a huge thud

"Shit!"

"Mommy! Language!"

"Sorry honey"

"What was that?" John asked

"I don't kn-" another hit "There's something here. Something big"

"Get out of there!" John yelled at me

"I can't. Whatever is out there it attracks to sound and light I can't move. I can't turn on my lights"

"What are we gonna do then"

Another hit

"Take Athenas ear piece out now"

"What? No she'll freak"

"John now" I yelled

"I'm sorry honey but mother's orders" I heard him say. I could hear what Athena was saying but she probably hates that I said that.

"John?"

"Her ear piece is out"

"Ok."

"Do you have a plan?"
