"Please just shut the hell up." Jack rolled his eyes, he crossed arms trying to mask his petrifying fear that clung onto his shoulders.

Ryan gritted his teeth and walked over to Jack. He grabbed Jack by the collar and held him a few inches off the ground.

"I suggest you don't talk to Tyler that way." Ryan gritted his teeth, Jack scoffed at him.

"You really think you're stronger than me?" He said as he grabbed his hand and turned it around almost breaking it. He pulled Ryan closer to him and whispered loudly into his ear.

"I have 20 years of dragon muscle in here buddy." Jack smiled and looked at Ember. Ember giggled as he threw Ryan to the ground. Jack sat back down and Ryan grunted angrily.

"God, I hate you even more than I used to." Ryan said as he stood up.

Ryan walked back over to Tyler, "Let's go." Tyler nodded and they both walked out of the cave.

Jack shook his head and stood up. He looked down to the chain on his leg and scoffed, "Those guys are so funny if they think they can keep me here." He sighed as he picked up the chain.

Ember watched as he let out a small yell and tore the chain in two.

"Piece of cake." He said happily and rubbed his hands together. Ember gasped and smirked.

"Woah!" Ember said in surprise. Jack walked over to the entrance of the cave and looked out into the hills and valleys laced with colorful trees.

"I'm gonna get Ivy and Noah." Jack smiled warmly as Ember nodded.

A wave of relief went over her and she sighed happily. Jack ran out of the cave and whistled. Ember heard a dragon's wings whooshing and out of the corner of Ember's eye, she saw Jack on top of Flicker. She chuckled happily as she saw them fly away. Ember smiled and tried to get out of these stupid chains.

"UGHHHH!!" She grunted in frustration as she rolled her eyes.

She started to shift. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. With one last yell, her bones started cracking and breaking. Ember turned into Spectrum.

Spectrum roared happily and the chains broke off. She whimpered to her family, asking them to shift as well. They were too weak from Ash's draining of their power.

Spectrum looked at Emily, "I'm sorry Spectrum, but I need to stay with them... you can do this. You can save us." Emily smiled warmly as she stroked the rainbow dragon's snout.

Spectrum closed her eyes, feeling the love seeping from her hand. She sighed softly and opened her eyes as she pulled away and whined. She looked at the entrance of the cave.

She ran out to freedom which was short-lived when she roared in pain and felt a dozen needles and thorns piercing her scales. She crashed onto the ground and groaned softly.

She looked to see what attacked her, it was a crystal dragon next to Ryan on top of Nightmare. Only the crystal dragon's scales were pitch black.

Spectrum widened her eyes and growled. They flew back down and injected the green serum into her. She grimaced in pain and shifted back to Ember.

"There. Now you'll stay as a pathetic and useless Ember for a couple days and after that... we'll inject you with some blue serum that'll keep you a human forever." Ryan smiled but Ember noticed a hint of sadness.

Ryan doesn't want Ember forever... He wants Spectrum.

Ember thought to herself and chuckled softly.

"What?" Ryan spat. Ember shook her head and put her hands up in submission.

He grabbed one of her arms and gripped it tightly. Ember cringed in pain and opened her mouth but she was at a loss for words, she was gonna lose her Spectrum.

Ryan pushed her to the ground and put on handcuffs that attached to her legs, Then he went to find a chain that attached her to the wall. Ember tried to move and went over to Emily.

"Hey... you okay?" Ember gasped as panic made her tremble.

Emily let out a silent tear, "I'm scared—what if they do take everything away from us?" She grasped her sister and held onto her tightly as if she never wanted to let go.

"They won't... I won't let them." Ember said sternly as she hugged her.

Ryan grabbed her arm and pulled her away. He chained her to the wall and she sat on the ground, frustrated and scared.

Ryan chuckled and squatted down, "Oh poor Ember..." He paused as he put his finger on Ember's chin. He pulled her head up to him. She stared into his eyes as he smirked.

"Don't worry at least you'll be my dragon beauty, Radiant." He said softly and walked away.

Ember sobbed quietly and prayed for her friends to come back and save them. Quick. Before it's too late.
