|Chp. 3: The Royal Family|

Quinn stared at the castle before us as Thaddeus walked forward. "You lived here?" I asked and Quinn glanced at me before nodding. "And you ran away?" I asked. Quinn nodded. "Are you stupid?" I asked. "It's not as grand as it looks. . . well it is, but. . ." Quinn trailed off.

"You wouldn't understand." Quinn said. I nodded. "I'll believe you." I told him and Quinn nodded with a bit of a smile. "Please stick close to me and don't wander off." Quinn said and I nodded as we walked through the ice gates.

The gates looked like they melted before refreezing which was cool. The snow was on the inside as Lupa looked around. Eden watched her as she decided to bark and the sound echoed off the walls. Lupa's ears perked up as she stared at her reflection in the ice.

Then she began to growl at it. And then she lunged at her reflection and bounced off of it before snarling at it more. "Seriously?" I asked Lupa. 'It was trying to fight me. I taught it who was boss.' Lupa said still growling at her reflection.

"Lupa it's your reflection." Quinn said and she put her ears back and stalked away, but still kept her eyes on the 'wolf' growling at her. 'It smells weird here, like tons of Eden's.' Lupa said. 'You smell weird.' Eden said and Lupa sniffed her coat. 'I smell fine.' Lupa said and Eden rolled his eyes.

Thaddeus stopped at massive doors and looked at it before smiling and going up. He lightly tapped on the door as a man opened it. This man was a bit taller than Thaddeus but not by much. He had short white hair and wore weird fur clothing and held a spear.

"Thaddeus?" He asked. Thaddeus nodded. "Get my mother." Thaddeus ordered and he nodded with a bow making me raise an eyebrow as Thaddeus entered and reluctantly entered with Eden. Claw watched his surroundings as Thaddeus dragged Quinn forward who scowled at Thaddeus and slapped his hands away.

I heard clicking on the floors as a women came into view. She had long white haired in a braid with a clip at the top. She wore a white dress with a white fur draped over her shoulders. She had high cheek bones and chocolate brown eyes as she looked at Thaddeus.

"Thaddeus, you've returned." She said with a smile. "I found Quinn." Thaddeus said and she looked at Quinn and went silent. "That's Quinn?" She asked and Thaddeus nodded and she covered her mouth in shock tears whelming in her eyes as Quinn sighed. "My baby." She said before rushing over and hugging him.

"Mom." Quinn whined. She didn't even answer simply hugged him. She was around Quinn's size, but a bit shorter, but still taller than me. Then she let go. "You left." She said blankly. Quinn nodded. "I had to." Quinn whispered and all she did was nod. "Your father is coming." She said.

Not long after the guard and a large man came into view. I thought Thaddeus was large. But this man was larger. He had wide shoulders and a face that showed no nonsense to be brought to him. He wore a white shiny shirt, and a pair of loose pants and a large white cloak.

"Myr, it's Quinn." She said excited going to him and grabbed his hand. Myr. That was a weird name. Myr walked over looking at Quinn. Quinn watched him silently. "Father look I'm--" Myr cut him off. "I'm glad your alive and not dead." Was all Myr said.

Quinn nodded. "Honey, you should get our children ready." Myr said and she nodded at that. Thaddeus stood tall his arms behind his back as I glanced up at the tall man who was Quinn's father. Lupa was in a position that showed no threat yet aware. And that's when it happened.

I felt the tip of a spear press against my the back of my neck. "Move and I'll kill you." I heard the guard say as Lupa whirled around with a growl. Myr's head snapped up. "Aspen, she's fine." I heard Quinn try to say.
