Blade's PoV:

Ruby had managed to get me to go to the dance. I stated very clearly that I won't be dancing and I did not feel like taking off my armor. She grumbled and made a deal: I can wear the armor only if I cleaned it up. I agreed to polish and shine, my argument to keeping the scrapes and dents was that it gave it character. Reluctantly, she agreed.

However, I left my DMR and Energy Sword in her room and took only Kat's Magnum and Emile's kukuri, which I hid on my lower back. I took off the combat knife's sheath and laid it on top of my other two weapons.

"You done yet?"

"Just... a... second... there!"

I turned around and saw Ruby in a dress. She was having a hard time balancing in her heels. Smirking, I looked her head-to-toe.

"Know what you're doing there, Lil' Rose?"

She gave me a sheepish smile. "No..."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Then why the hell are you wearing those?!?"

"They look nice..."

I took control of my laughter and messed up her hair a little. "You're fine. How about the next time the school dance rolls around, you ask Weiss for help."

"Hmm?" Weiss stuck her head through the door.

"And there she is."

Ruby gulped and looked at Weiss. "Hey, Weiss. I know it's kinda sudden, but..."

"But what?"

"Do you think you can teach me how to walk in these?"

Weiss rolled her eyes and I left the room. As I walked, I came across that Cinder lady.
She gave me a playful wink and I raised an eyebrow. Shaking my head, I waited outside for Ruby and she walked over kinda shakily.

"Best Weiss could do?"

Ruby nodded and I helped her along. Yang was at the front door and when she saw us, a grin formed on her lips.

"What are you, her chaperone?"

She felt my glare.

"Never mind. Have fun, you two."

We entered and I stuck to the shadows, enjoying the atmosphere. Ruby tried her hand at a couple of dances and I watched as her worries melted away. Eventually, Ruby took Yang's spot and checked people out. I stood next to her, messing with the kukuri I brought.

Velvet took a photo of it as she left and Coco smirked.

"Her weapon uses photos."

What? Is it like a 3-d printer or something?

I kept my thoughts to myself and stood quietly as Ruby ranted on about how lame the night had became. A shadow on the rooftops cut her off.

"Huh?"

"I'll check it out. You stay here."

"Uh, oh-. Okay."

I activated my Active Camouflage and trailed the Masked Woman. She knocked out all of the guards outside, then made her way in. As she did, I bit my lip.

Why did Dot have to go? I could really use a bio scan here!

She entered an elevator with two guards and me and the woman slammed their heads together with ease, knocking them cold. Smiling, she bent down and picked up one of their Scrolls.

"This'll be useful."

I archived a recording of her voice. Gotcha. Strutting like nothing was wrong, she sat down at the desk and slipped a black Scroll into a port. I stood there for sometime, watching her, before she suddenly formed twin glass daggers and glared right at me.

"Someone's there."

As soon as she said that, she threw one of her daggers at me. I lept to the side, but the motion along with the knife broke my camo. Feeling a sting of pain, I looked down to see yellow sparks crawling across my armor and blood trickling down my left arm. Grimacing, I looked up to see the woman standing before me. She twirled her glass knife and I drew the kukuri.

Her smirk vanished. We charged at one another and her dagger surprisingly held up to my strength. We clashed several times before I slipped up a little and forgot she could summon two. A dagger formed in her off hand and she drove it towards my heart. My HUD warned that my armor was breached and I tried rolling away. Something threw her back, though.

As we stood there, confused, I saw my health increasing as the pain in my arm faded. Looking down, a black and red way rolled over my body. Slowly, I lifted my head to gaze at the Masked Woman.

"Aura, huh?"

We clashed again, but this time, I was more aggressive with my strikes. She managed to block me several times before grabbing my arm and throwing me into the elevator. The door closed and went down. I slammed the kukuri into my sheath.

"Damn it."

The elevator opened to show Ironwood. He gave me a strange look.

"I tried apprehending the suspect. She got the best of me."

Ironwood placed a cold hand on my shoulder. "You tried. That's the most we could have asked for you."

I took out a data chip from my helmet. "Got a recording of her voice. Try and find a match. I'll go see if Ruby is okay."

I started to walk away, but Ironwood stopped me. "Noble Six, you've been shadowing her the entire time you've been here. Why? I want to know; she's a good kid."

I smiled and did something rare. I took off my helmet revealing my black hair, scarred face and silver eyes. "Did you know her mother?"

"Summer Rose? We went on a handful of missions, yes. Why?"

"Did she say anything note-worthy during your time together?"

"Well, she did mention she had a b-." Ironwood stopped and looked at me. After a moment of silence, he simply said "oh."

I put my helmet back on and walked over to RWBY's dorm. After a quiet knock, Weiss opened the door.

"Oh! Come in!"

I did and looked around in the would be dim room. I was able to see due to my augments, but something bothered me. Our Spartan augments are designed to allow us to see like a cat at night and yet night vision is still installed in our helmets. Why?

Weiss walked over to her desk and grabbed the cloak she had been working on. Slowly, she walked back to me and offered it.

"We've been working on this for a while now."

I saw NOBLE's logo on the piece of cloth that went over the right shoulder and smiled. Taking it, I slung it over my shoulders and saw that it was designed not to impede motion or combat.

I looked at Weiss. "Thanks."

"You're welcome. Your weapons are on my desk, if you need them."

I walked over and saw my DMR and combat knife, but not the energy sword. After putting those two back on, I looked into Ruby's bed. Indeed, she had my Energy Sword.

Carefully, I slipped it out of her hands and left. As I walked around campus, I couldn't help but feel that something we knew was wrong.

What is this feeling?

I couldn't take it anymore so I left to investigate how my sister died. First stop: Qrow Brawnwen.

Alright! Six's investigation will take place during the majority of Vol. Three! Will he be able to return in time? Find out soon!
