Maddie's POV

Gabby and Cade had a beautiful wedding a few weeks ago, and Allison was so excited to be the flower girl, even though she already had all the flowers thrown before she even got halfway down the aisle.

"Look, baby, the photographer finished the pictures," I tell Allison.

"Oooo!" She squeals, "let me see!"

"Look how beautiful," I smile at the picture of her.

"I love my dress! I looked like a princess!"

"You sure did!" I continue flipping through the pictures.

"Mommy! It's almost daddy's birthday!"

"I know! Do you want to help me with his cake?"

"Yes I do!" She giggles.

"Well, we need to go to the store first," I smile.

"Okay!"

After we get everything we need, we get back to the house and start on Caleb's birthday cake.

"What kind of cake are we making? Is it chocolate?"

"Yes, it is," I smile at her.

"Yummy! I want a chocolate cake for my birthday, too! But I want mine from the store because I want butterflies on it!"

I laugh, "Sure thing."

"Pink and blue butterflies!" She giggles.

"Okay, baby. Here, do you want to mix this up?" I ask her.

"Yes! How do I do it?"

I explain to her how to use the mixer, and she does it without a problem. We have plenty of time before Caleb comes home. His birthday is tomorrow, and Allison's is on the 6th. After the cake is in the oven, Allison wants to watch a movie. As I'm putting the movie in, she speaks.

"When will I know if I am having a brother or a sister?" She asks.

"Next week," I look over my shoulder at her, smiling.

"Yay! And I will get to go to the doctor with you?"

"Yes, precious."

"Yes!" She cheers, "Mommy, how long until July?"

"Four months," I walk over, and sit beside of her on the couch.

'Is that a long time?"

"Not too long," I put an arm around her, and she leans into me.

"I can't wait," she says softly.

"Me either," I rub her head, using the other hand to press play on the remote.

Later on, after the movie, we get Caleb's cake out and Allison helps me spread the icing on it.

"I remember doing this last year," she giggles, "but I could not do much then. But I am a big girl now!"

"You sure are," I smile at her.

"And sissy helped last year," she looks down at the cake.

"I remember," I say, softly.

"Does she have cake in heaven?"

I giggle, "I'm sure she does."

"I bet it is even more delicious! I bet the angels make it! Do they make her a cake on her birthday?"

"I'm sure they do!" I smile, putting the finished cake into the fridge.

"Miss Amy said that I can send a balloon to heaven on her birthday," she smiles.

"You can! That's a great idea," I tell her.

"Will you and daddy send one, too?" She asks, "with me?"

"We would love to."

"Miss Amy said we can write a message on the balloon?"

"Yes," I take her back into the living room.

"I will need help because I can't write," she giggles.

"We will help you," I kiss her head.

"I want to send purple balloons! Sissy's favorite color!"

"I know she will be so happy to get them," I hug her, trying to keep from crying.

"It is going to be the best birthday she has ever had," she pulls away and smiles at me, "because it is her first birthday it heaven! And the angels will make her the most delicious cake she has ever had!"
