Ch. 8 An akuma

The next morning, Marinette was twiddling a pencil in between her fingers trying to figure out this riddle.

The miraculous were connected, but how would that help her fix a broken one? Could the miraculous energy from one be transferred to another? But how would that work? She was so deep in thought she didn't notice a certain black cat wake up from his nap. He meowed at her and broke her out of her trance.

"Oh, hey cat, sorry, I just zoned out there for a moment," she said. She stroked his head and went downstairs to get in a croissant, which he happily accepted.

Once he had finished, he walked up to Mari and playfully pawed at her.

"Cat you can't transform now it's to early," she replied.

He continued to paw at her.

She sighed

"Oh alright," she said and gave him the ring. He meowed and transformed back into Cat noir.

"What was so important you had to transform right now?" Marinette asked

"Well, truth be told I wanted to spend some time with you," he answered.

Marinette was not expecting that.

"What do you mean?" She asked

"Well, you've been taking of care of me and I wanted to do something with you other than lay around while you stroke my head," he answered

"Wouldn't you rather spend this time with ladybug?" Marinette asked

"Ladybug is probably busy, besides, she would scold me for using my miraculous like this," he said

Marinette laughed.

"Alright, do you wanna play a video game?" She asked

"Game on," Cat Noir said

After playing a couple rounds, marinette had won every time. Cat noir sighed.

"How are you so good at video games?" He asked

"As a kid, I used to play them with my dad all the time, and I quickly learned how the tactics of this game, it's one of my favourites," She said

Cat noir smiled,

"Marinette you're so talented, you bake, make amazing fashion designs, and are incredible at video games. Is there anything you can't do?" He asked

Marinette laughed.

"There's a lot I can't do, but thanks for the compliment," she said

She saw his ring flashed and her smile vanished. Cat noir noticed this and cupped one hand around her chin.

"Hey, what's with the long face? We'll figure this out, I'll be back to normal before you know it," he said with a wink.

"Cat Noir... do you know anything about Adrien Agreste's disappearance?" She asked

Cat noir sat there for a moment froze before he answered.

"I'm afraid I don't princess, but I'm sure he'll turn up, you just need to stay positive," he said.

Marinette smiled.

"Thanks kitty," she said and then he transformed back into a cat. Just as he did, Marinette noticed something outside. She went on her balcony and saw there was an akuma!

"Tikki we need to transform," she whispered into her purse,"

"We can't here though, Cat Noir may see us," Tikki said.
