Maryam's POV

"How are you feeling?" Amra asked me as she came into my hospital room.

"I'm better, Alhamdulillah. Thank you sis. Don't tell anyone."

"I got your back, bestie." She hugged me.

"I love you, lil sis."

"Yeah, I'm lovable." She stuck her tongue out.

"Can't you say it back?"

"I can't say what I don't mean but i love you ya Maryam. Now, let's go home. The driver's waiting."

Amra helped me up as we headed out of the room.

After about 30minutes, we were back home.

"I see you've cleaned the blood." I noticed as we entered my room.

"I don't want mum to know her daughter has started cutting herself. AGAIN."

"You're right."

"I'm sorry I was not here for you last night."

"It's okay. You're here now. What bout Mum, Ameer and Mufee."

"Well, Mufee's parents came back last night and I took her home."

"Aww, i miss that girl."

"Me too."

"Mum and Ameer are in Kaduna with daddy. They are coming back later In Shaa Allah."

"Okay toh."

"Now tell me, what happened last night?"

"He broke up with me. He also sent a letter to make it worse. I felt broken so i cried and cried. I slept it off. I woke up cuz i heard someone at the door. I saw the letter. Here you go, read it."

"It's blood stained."

"I know."

"How could he?! We are going to avenge this sis. Let Ameer come back." Amra said with an evil smirk.

"I love you girlllllll."

"Don't ever cry cuz of a guy again, okay?"

"Okay, mum."

"Now, let's cook before them Mama come home."

"You're right. What are we cooking though?"

"White rice, beef sauce, salad and grilled chicken and an anniversary cake for mum and dad."

"Waittt, it's their anniversary?" I asked Amra.

"Yessss. 13th July. You've forgotten?"

"Oops, I'm a bad daughter."

"Yes, you are Maryam Umar Yakubu."

"You aren't any different  from me, Amra Umar Yakubu."

We got into the kitchen and started working.

"Let me start with the cake, Amra."

"Alright, the rice is on the fire right now."

"You don't understand how much you really mean to me." i started.

"I need you in my life"

"Your my necessity yeah"

"But believe me your everything"

"That just makes my world complete"

"My love is clear, the only thing that you'll ever see."

We then started singing together, "Your all I ever need."

"Baby your amazing."

"Your my angel come and save me." We ended our song like that.

"I love us." I told Amra.

"Me love we too." She replied.

"I love you two, too." A voice said.

"Ya Ibrahimmmmmmmm." Amra and I screamed at once.

"I missed you girls."

"We missed you too. Well, i missed you." I honestly told him.

"How bout you, Amra?"

"You know I don't lie. Well, I just remembered you fa"

"Will you ever change?" We all laughed.

"What are you cooking?" Ya Ibrahim asked.

"Food naaa." Amra answered him.

"What type?" He asked again.

"The eatable type." She answered him

"We are cooking white rice and beef sauce with grilled chicken."

"And also baking a cake for mum and dad." Amra added.

"Can I do the grilling?' He asked me.

"Sure. As they say 'The more hands, the quicker the work finishes'."

"Who are the they that say that?" Amra asked me, quite puzzled.

"Which saying is that?" Ya Ibrahim raised an eyebrow.

"I also have no idea." I answered them both.

An hour later.

"The rice and sauce are done." Amra announced.

"The chicken too.'

"Okayyyyy. I just have to cut and frost the cake."

"Yumm, chocolate, vanilla and red velvet."

I put the red velvet at the bottom because it's dad's fave, i covered it with chocolate ganache and whipped icing. Then i put on the second layer of cake, chocolate cake because it's our fave and covered it with chocolate ganache and whipped icing and finally the vanilla cake layer, which is on top and mum's fave.

I first covered it with the first layer of icing then i put in the fridge for thirty minutes.

After bringing out, I covered it with the final coating of chocolate icing. I wrote Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad  with whipped blue icing and decorated the cake and I am done!

We watched TV as we waited for our parents arrival.

"Finally! They have arrived. And it's 10p.m.." Amra shouted.

"Assalamu Alaikim."

"Wa alaikum salam, mummy."  I hugged her.

We brought everything to the parlour after greeting our parents.

"I've been hungry ai." Ameer said.

"No one cooked for you." I told him.

After eating the food, Ya Ibrahim came in and said, "Happy Anniversary dear parents." And Amra brought the cake.

"Is this Ibrahim?"

"Yes, it's me. I missed you mum."

After enjoying cake and food, we caught up and finally retired to our respective rooms.

Goodnight
