Chapter 5: Water Bearer Y/n! "Water Lady!"

Recap:

"Well what are you waiting for Captain? Get me out of here. And make sure to kick this guy's ass for me."

"With pleasure, Y/n!" he says, giving you a thumbs up. Don Krieg lets out a loud bellowed laugh. "Are they your crew members? That's quite a small group you got!"

"What are you saying? I've got two more!"Luffy holds up two fingers to represent Sanji and Nami. (since you agreed to join) "Hey! You counted me didn't you?!" Sanji yells, irritated. Don Krieg scowls at Zeff. He then puts away his weapons. "I'll deal with you later. I'll go feed my underlings. Those who don't want to die can abandon the restaurant and escape. All I'm after is the logbook, Water Bearer Y/n and this ship."

With that, he throws the large bag of food over his shoulder and heads to the door. Zeff has the same expression on his face the whole time. Sanji scowls at the mention of Krieg trying to take you away. He stops one last time to look at you, sending shivers down your spine when you see his disgusting smile. "Don't worry. I will come back for you."He pats your head, causing you to flinch, which you instantly regret as you remember your small cut on your side. You wince in pain, but try your best to hide it.

"But, if you still wish to be uselessly killed...it's a bother, but I'll bury you in the sea. Know that."

Finally, he leaves the ship. Everyone else is left speechless. Luffy is still holding up two fingers, Zoro and Usopp are still watching from the stairs, the chefs are all paralyzed in fear for Krieg and his men. Sanji is still on the ground, his hit from Krieg and the pain, almost gone. Then there's you; still on the floor, with a pool of blood on the ground from where you once sat, and now on the same side of the wall you are leaning against. You then realize that Gin is still there; on the floor, clutching his shoulder in pain. The chefs seem to remember too, for they all look about ready to kill him.

"I'm sorry, Sanji-san. I never imagined this would happen." he says. "That's not something you should apologize for, underling." Zeff says.You gasp hearing Zeff say this. The other chefs are even more surprised than you are. Even Sanji! 'Why? Why is he taking Sanji's side,' you thought. Certainly he would agree with the chefs and want to blame this all on you and Sanji, right? "Each cook at this restaurant acted as they felt was right. That's all." he continued.

"Owner! Why are you acting as if you're taking Sanji's side?!" Patty asks, panicked. "No, really dumbass?" you snap. "Shut up, you criminal!! This is your fault too!" he yells to you. "That's right!" the other chefs jump in. "They're responsible for the whole thing! He's going to put your precious restaurant out of business! Not to mention she's a wanted criminal with a bounty of-"

"SHUT UP YOU IDIOTS!!!!!" You flinch back, surprised that Zeff was yelling at the chefs. Gin's pupils contracted in shock. "Have you felt what it is like to be on the brink of starvation?! Losing food and water on this grand ocean.......... Do you know how scary that is?! Do you know how hard it is?!" 'Eh? What is he saying?' You look over to see if Sanji has any reaction to all of this; but he does not. All he is doing is lighting a cigarette and blowing the smoke from time to time. You then focus your attention on Patty and Zeff. "What? What do you mean, Owner?" Patty says, trying to calm down. "The difference between Sanji and you all is whether you know it or not."

"Hmm? What does he mean? What's he saying Sanji knows?"

Zoro and Usopp look just as confused as the chefs. Maybe more, since they hardly knew the guy. Zeff looks like, he is about to explain, but instead he bites his lip slightly, and changes the subject. "If you have time to grumble, leave the restaurant from the back door already!" he points to the door. "l'll stay and fight! I couldn't bear it if I was just beaten and didn't fight back!" Patty yells.
