Chapter 23: Ask the Girl, Jesse :D

{Jesse's POV}

"All right that's good enough for today! My, God! I must say that you all did great on the training! I'm impressed, Well done!" John congratulating us, ending the Training for today. Mike, Amy, and that other British soldiers clapped their hands to congratulate us. I guess Learning new weapons and new combat style from the other world is quite an experience. But just doing simple thing as aiming and shooting that only includes pulling trigger but includes lining up sight with the target which required precision and accuracy is really exhausting. I think I'm gonna take a break from work tomorrow

Even if I say that... I still have one more important work to do tonight. I'm having a Strategy meeting with the Allied Commanders tonight but after the meeting I'm planning to ask Petra out since Lukas is gonna ask my sister too. So, why don't we have a double date tonight? I heard that that some people from the Allies, non-combatants, just some civilians had built a new restaurant in the town. A fancy one I heard

I looked at the sky to see that it's already late afternoon. Man, that was fast. I was talking with John before he got called by his friends to tidy up the shooting range. Better ask her soon before going back home to the temple. I looked around for Petra and I saw her talking with Lukas and my sister near the doorway of the training area. I walked to them

"Hey Guys!" I called them. They turned around towards me

"Oh Sup' Jesse!" both Lukas and Petra replied

"Oh hey bro! Sup?" my sister replied

"Hey, so what do you guys think? Y'know about the new combat experience with firearms they taught us with?" I asked them, wanting to know their opinion about Firearms and their fighting techniques

"Well, it was...how do i put it?" Petra said, completely lost of words

Uhh, new? And uh fun?" I said, chuckled

"Yeah, it was fun with all of these new things that we just learned from them" my sister said, referring them as our new allies "It's like advancing from wooden weapons to stone weapons to iron weapons to diamond weapons but at whole new different level. Y'know getting stronger and stronger with your equipment" She added her opinion

"Yeah, i guess you can put it that way. And don't forget about the techniques. Eventhough it's simple by just pressing the trigger, you have to be skilled enough to aim at the targets and fast enough to react in the battlefield. The Allies taught us something that we know but by enhancing it more in terms of reaction and response in battle. I think that all of these new stuffs will help us in the fight against the Nazis" Lukas laughed while scratching his back. He then turned to my sister and my sister nodded at him then he they turned back to me "So, yeah anyway uhh we got something to do. So if you guys don't, we'll be excusing ourselves. We'll catch up with you guys later!" Lukas said as he took my sister's hand and ran to wherever they went, leaving just me and Petra at the entrance and/or exit doorway of the training area

After they left, there's an awkward silence between the two, neither sure whether who will be the one to cut the silence. That is until we glanced at each other with the intention of starting a conversation but still not sure whether to be the one to speak first

"So..." we started in unison, causing us to laugh at ourselves

After the laughter died down, I decided that I will be the one who will speak first "Sooo, Petra i wanna ask you something"

"Yeah, what is it?" She asked happily, raising an eyebrow

With all the courage that I have mustered, I finally asked her "I was thinking if you would like to go out with me, my sister, and Lukas tonight after the meeting? You know like a...double date"
