Chapter 34: Spirit of Wellington

{John's POV}

The Jerries Forces continued to launch their full-scaled offensive against our combined forces after they breached the Town's wall. Even though we were a combination of British, Italian and Beacontown troops, we were still outnumbered 10 to 1. They attacked us continuously from both land and air. The Jerries Panzers continues to attack with lightning speed and KWK Multi function Cannons. Jerries Hovercraft came from their original source which is from the East to provide air support with KWK multi-role cannons. Although, we have our Flyboys in the air, intercepting the Jerries Bombing errands. Even so, we continued to hold them off from their efforts to conquer Beacontown and this world and win the war so that we could return to our respective homeland and end the Nazi regime which had ruled the Earth for 10 years. But it has to be ended first

We're still holding our position in the western part of the town after we got separated from the others. conditions here are not too good. The Jerries troops who were tasked to breach the Town's first defenses at the Gate before are chasing and now they tried to attack us. Now, i'm at the Second line of Defense which were near the Beacon statue with lots of trenches and barricades. There's 500 Soldiers with me from various division that were separated after the Jerries first phase of offensive. I mounted a British Mk.III Vickers HMG while the others used basic infantry firearms and some are using Rocket launchers to destroy the Panzers

"Bloody Hell! These Jerries are getting on my nerves!" Mike shouted while reloading his rifle

"Yes, i know! But we must keep em' off from breaching the Second line of Defense" I shouted at him while firing the HMG at the Swarming Jerries Forces and War Machines

"Attacke! erledige sie!" A German soldier cried while charging at us. The Germans are attacking non-stop. They charged with all their troops trying to encircle and outmanuvered us. Their Panzers trying to Assaulted us using Blitzkrieg Tactic. The Town is completely looked like a Huge Battlefield. This is messed up

"Hold them off! Our Troops and Allies are trying to hold them off too! So, we better hold this position as long as we can" i shouted to everyone as everyone grunted in agreement and keep fighting. A German Soldier shots his Rifle at me but i dodged it by ducking quickly. After that i keep firing the HMG killing several Nazis

When the HMG is out of Ammunitions, i quickly grabbed my Assault Rifle and dual Revolver. I looked around to see my Men are exhausted and some are dead. We're about to lose but no! I was thinking a Crazy but Brave plan that might work. I will stand here alone, holding the Jerries off as long as i can, and let my Men to evacuate and regroup with the other Battalions and Divisions. Well here goes nothing...

"Everyone! Fall back! Regroup with the others!" I shouted at my men while firing the Jerries using my Rifle. The men grunted in agreement as they grabbed their weapons and running away from their position to retreat. While they're retreating, i fired at the Enemy as a Distraction so that they'll focused on me instead of my Men

When everyone have been retreated, the only remaining troops holding the position were me and Mike. The Jerries are just keep coming and coming in huge numbers. Mike stopped shooting and turned ti me

"John! Let's go! The others have been finally retreated! We can't hold this position any much longer" He told me while ducking for cover because a Shell hits a small hut nearby

"Good! Then go Mike! I'll hold them off as long as i could!" I replied. Mike had a worried look on his face

"WHAT!? Are you crazy!? You're gonna get yourself killed!" He yelled at me. I chuckled and then spoke

"I know...But if i must die for our Empire... Then i eill die for our Empire! The Duke of Wellington did this for his Empire! It was his legacy! I must honor it and save our Empire! Go Mike and if i don't make it... Tell Amy that i love her no matter what and that i'll always be with her" i told him sincerely. Mike then had a proud look on his face. He glanced at the overwhelming Jerries and then at me. He sighed

"For the Empire!" He exclaimed while extending his hand for me to Shook. I smiled and shook his hand

"For the Empire and the People" i replied at him. Then Mike grabbed his sniper rifle as he sprinted way to the other Allied Battalions or Beacontown Militants that left earlier. I turned back at the attacking Jerries again as i continued to fight the Jerries. But then i realized i'm out of Rifle ammos. I picked my last weapon which were dual Revolver MkIII and a Sabre. I smirked at the gun and looked at the Charging Jerries

"Okay, Jerries! Time for Wellington's Last Stand! Yaaargh!" I cried out and fought the Enemy using only my Revolvers and a Sabre. I'll hold this line with my life until the end of my breath. For the People, For the King, For the Empire, For the Freedom, and For the Lord

{Amy's POV}

I was walking with the Royal Scottish Regiment to support John's Battalion who got outnumbered at the 2nd Front by the German Forces. The Liutenant of the Regiment, Harry Collinwood whose insist us the Royal Scouts to come with them. And i was the one that had been chosen to lead the Scouts! I hope John and Mike are okay. The Germans are overwhelming the Battlefield with their huge number. The Russian Army are on their way but they're later , the American and French Forces are distracted by the Germans offensive in the South, and the Chinese is fighting off the Fascist Italian forces in an unknown region

When we were on our way to the Battlefield, i Saw some of our troops running towards our direction. Most of them are injured badly and almost out of their breaths. Then i realised that this Troops was John's Regiment. I could see everyone from the regiment and Mike with them bur No John!? Oh Gods! I quickly ran to Mike. When i caught him, we quickly hugged

"Hey Cuz! Thank God your okay" I said to Mike, feeling glad that he's okay

"Yeah..." He said quietly

"Where's John?" I asked him worriedly. Mike looked down to the ground and then spoke

"He's still there. He told us to retreat while he distract the Jerries as long as he can. He's holding the Jerries there with only pistols and Sabre and Alone..." He replied, while still looking down. I gasped "He's a Brave Man...A honorable ones...like...Duke of Wellington" he told me, this time, his tone is filled with... Pride?

"WHAT!?" I screamed as Mike winced at my scream "we need to help him!" I stated. Mike then looked up and smiled

"Right! We have to help him!" His face suddenly brighten up as he turned to the the rest of the troops from his and John's division

"Anyone who's still can fight! Grab yer Weapons!" Mike said to the Soldiers who were with him. Theres a couple of soldiers nodded, grabbed their guns, and walked to us. I smilled and pulled out a Handgun from my belt bolster

"Let's go! Mike, lead the way!" I said to Mike. He smiled

"All right you little Missy! This way, Chaps!" Mike said as we went towards where John was. We followed him. In my heart i'm still worried about John. I hope he's okay. Of Course he'll be fine! He's an experienced Soldier and a strong warrior. Nothing bad could happen to him right?

"I hope you're okay, John..."

{John's POV}

"Get that you filthy Jerries!" I shouted while firing at the Overwhelming Germans soldiers using only my dual revolvers. There's a lot of them trying to get to me but all of them got killed by me before they even lay a finger on me or even shoot their guns. I killed several of them without getting injured but gradually, i became exhausted

When i was fighting the Jerries, then the Jerries backed away slowly. Huh, probably they're exhausted from all their efforts trying to kill and got lots of them died in my hands

"Hah! You Filthy Jerries! Are you afraid of me" i taunted them. The Jerries only fell silent and it felt weird. Then Theres an omnious voice i recognized a time long ago that make me froze in my position

"They're not afraid of any enemies they encountered. They only afraid of their Leaders, Lieutenant. You should know that by now"
