Yeah there's quite a lot of these story ideas.

Anyway, this is a story I am basing on a disturbing dream I once had, with time travel and s**t.

It will be called 'Time Alone'

It's confusing but whatever.

I am only planning to make this one into a novella (less than 40,000 words) and it will probably be the first book of a series I am planning to call 'The Cosmos Series'.

The series will have the same main characters each time, but they will be put in different scenarios in parallel universes (they will not know of their parallel lives and scenarios). The series will be mainly Sci-fi and adventure, some being set in space, the future, alternative universes etc.

I have another book for this series planned, but I have not written anything as yet. I might... one day...

Here is the first chapter/prologue: (it's really short, sorry.) (P.S. I need epic name suggestions.)

“Becky! Come down here now!” my burden of a mother calls up to me.

I huff, closing the lid to my laptop and rising up out of my chair. I look to my left, spotting my phone, I decide to take it.

Making my way down the stairs, I only glance up at mum when I reach the last step.

“Now, answer me properly this time, are you coming out to town with us tonight?” she asks sternly.

“No.” I answer simply.

Mum sighs, “Why not? This is the perfect opportunity to spend time with your family! You know? The people who love you.”

“Why would I want to spend time with you?” I moan, “You don’t love me. No one does.”

“Okay…” Mum responds, “Let me rephrase my question.” She takes a deep breath, “You are coming out to town with us tonight.”

“No. I am not!” I run back up the stairs.

“NO! You come back here, young lady! I want to spend some time as a family, and you are the only one stopping that from happening!” she walks towards the stairs and places one foot on the first step, “Becky? Becky!” she bellows, “Are you even listening to me? Becky!”

As a matter of fact, I’m not. I immediately grab my headphones and open my Music app, clicking on shuffle. Lying on the bed, I place my headphones in my ears and close my eyes.

After a few minutes, I faintly hear the sound of my parent’s car zooming off and the house returns to silence; the way I like it.

It’s been the way I’ve always liked it, with no one to boss you around, no one to tell you what to do. It’s just me, myself and I.

I sit up as my music fades for 3 seconds, signalling that I’ve received a text. Which is odd. Since I don’t get many texts, not even from my friends – if I had any.

I open up texts to see my most recent one was sent from my dad, I click on it and read it.

One day you’re going to realise the importance of family.

Pfft. Yeah right. I’ll believe you one day, dad. Sure I will.
