Bringing the glass closer towards my face, I slowly and carefully outlined the stencil of the picture of the fox. I learned a technique where you place the picture inside the glass and trace the picture from the outside of the glass. I was thankful for my coworker Maize who gave me that tip or I would have another dilemma where I tried to freehand and it looked like a rat instead of a fox.

Beside me, soft music from my phone played while I worked on my artwork. Above me, birds chirped, almost like they were trying to get my attention, but I stayed firmly attentive to my work. Thankfully, there was not a single soul in the park today which meant I could listen to my music and work in peace.

I was shocked the park wasn't crowded with parents and their children considering it was Friday at four in the evening. It was usually the time the park was very crowded but anyone with working eyes could tell by the dark clouds above head that a storm was most likely coming. Except, I didn't care. I enjoyed the cool breeze of the fall season and the smell of rain above. It made me concentrate even more on my work.

It wasn't like I wasn't prepared in case it did rain. Beside me was a plastic tote that I found in my pantry at home that provided a lid I could cover my work with if it did rain.

Carefully putting down the glass, I shook the numbness away from my hand. I've been working for the past two hours and my hand was starting to freeze up from the constant work. Though I took occasional breaks, choosing to swing on the swing set rather than sit there in boredom, my hands were still killing me.

Picking up my orange/red sharpie paint pen, I grinned as I started coloring in the fur of the fox. Before I got the chance to get halfway through, a raindrop landed on my arm along with a second one landing on the color.

"Shit!" I exclaimed as the not dry paint started running.

Carefully but quickly, I placed the glass inside the plastic tote along with the others. I guessed today's artwork would have to wait till tomorrow when the rain would be nonexistent. As soon as I placed the lid on the container, a rumble of thunder erupted above-head.

Throwing my phone in my pocket, I slung my bag over my shoulder and hoisted the tote onto my hip. Though I had no problem with a storm, I didn't know it would rain this early and I rather not risk my paintings getting ruined.

Quickly, I walked out the metal gate of the park and started walking down the sidewalk. My small town was almost dead silent except the rumble of thunder and the one car that passed. Thankfully, today was my day off from the bar which meant I could go home and finish my work there. At least at my apartment, I didn't have the constant complaints of my sisters or Nick and Will trying to persuade me to make friends.

I still had two more blocks until I was in the comfort of my small, cozy apartment. All of a sudden, the light raindrops turned into heavy ones. I looked up as a torrential downpour fell from the sky.
