Chapter One: Starbucks

ME: r u guys free this afternoon?

TXUNAMY: yep!

PIPER: yeah!

COCO: no sorry :(

SOPHIE: yea I think so...why??

ME: i was thinking..wanna go to starbucks? my mom can drive us.

SOPHIE: sure!

TXUNAMY: ok

PIPER: what time?

ME: pick u all up in 20 min? (if u live closer it will take less time)

PIPER: ok!!

TXUNAMY: gettin ready

SOPHIE: waiting for u!

ME: kk

I shut off my phone and change. I put on a white hoodie, some pale blue jeans, and my black converse, since black goes with anything. I go downstairs and eat a granola bar, then Mommy and I are on our way to pick up my friends.

Once everyone is in the car, we talk about what we're gonna get.

"I want a caramel frappuccino," says Piper. "Me too!" I say.

"Hm, I think I'm gonna go for the Caramel Brulee this time around," says Txunamy. "Me too!" says Sophie. We all laugh at that.

When we get inside I remember how Annie loved starbucks. Caleb would have enjoyed it in LA too. I sigh. Sometimes I have a little trouble remembering to celebrate life.

We got back in the car, and we had to drop Sophie and Piper off. Txunamy got to come over, though. I haven't had a friend over in a really long time. I really need someone to talk to, besides mommy. I'm starting a new private school soon and I am really nervous. Paige is traveling, and my siblings...you know about them. It's been 6 months since I lost annie and almost 4 years since Caleb. If you told me 3 and a half years ago that I was gonna be an only child in 2019, I would've told you you're crazy and weird.

I'll tell you a little secret: I have a diary, and write in it everyday. Here is my entry from this morning:

Dear Diary,

Today I'm gonna ask mommy if we can go to starbucks with friends. I hope she says yes.

As you can see, my life is super boring now.
