Chapter Eleven: Wait Till Tomorrow

It's Sunday afternoon, 5 hours after my parents told me the news. Tuesday is our last day of Bratayley. My parents have locked themselves in my dad's office, thinking about how to tell our "fans" while I'm just here feeling sorry for myself.

ME: we're quitting Bratayley. Our last day is Tues

I turn off my phone, suddenly hungry.

"Hey Mom, can we order pizza, and possibly have Aaliyah and Leia over?"

When I don't get a response, I run to Dad's office. I'm about to open the door when I hear them talking. I wait, and eavesdrop.

"Yes, I think it's a good idea," I hear Mom say.

Huh? WHAT is a good idea? Quitting Bratayley?

"Hayley would love it too, I think," says my dad.

Okay, it's definitely NOT quitting Bratayley. We've made our decision about that.

"I'm asking them today. I think two is good."

It's silent so I think my dad nods. "Two is good."

I HAVE to know what's going on here. Maybe we're getting two new dogs!! I wait a bit until they change the subject, then I open the door.

"Hey, Mom? Could we order pizza? And maybe invite Aaliyah and Leia over?"

"Sure," she says. "But we're not inviting your friends."

"What?? Why???"

"Because, we're having another family meeting for two VERY important reasons."

Maybe this is what they meant by "two is good." But it doesn't really make sense. Hmm.

"Okay," I say. I go to my room and go on Instagram for a bit. And then I watch Rosanna Pansino.

The pizza comes and I'm starving. I rush to the kitchen and sit down. "So, what's this family meeting about?"

My mom looks at my dad and smiles. "Tomorrow, you have school?"

I raise an eyebrow. Seriously?

Mom laughs.

"No, no. That's not it. We have more. We're thinking about not ending Bratayley on Tuesday."

I roll my eyes. "Um, okay, why?"

"Well, we can't tell you right now, but you'll find out tomorrow, after school."

"Okay." Did they think adding two new dogs to the family will make people like Bratayley more? We already have 3. What's 2 more gonna do?

I eat my pizza in silence and when I finish it, I go straight to my room. I watch YouTube and then go to bed. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
