"walk me home, arch?" betty approached veronica and archie in the hallway.
"yeah, definitely," he grinned at her, "bye ronnie." he gave his girlfriend a quick kiss on the cheek.
"bye, V." betty said as she and archie walked out of the building, smiling and laughing.
veronica's fake smile dropped, instantly replaced with a scowl. veronica couldn't help being jealous of betty. she knew she would always come second to betty, and as of today veronica figured she'd be seeing a lot more of her.

"and then you kicked him in the nuts." archie burst out laughing as he finished his story."in my defense he broke the flower crown you made me from those dandelions that were around the playground, and he said i gave you cooties." betty whined before joining in on the laughter.
"god, chuck was a douche in third grade." archie stated as he smiled widely at the blond next to him.
"was? he still is." they were both hysterical now.
archie unlocked his front door, and the pair made their way inside.
"archie?" a voice rang out from the kitchen.
"hey dad, guess who i brought home." betty and archie turned the corner and saw fred sitting at the kitchen island, newspaper in hand.
"betty cooper, god i feel like i haven't seen you in ages. did you grow?" he wobbled to his feet and embraced the blond in front of him.
"i think you shrunk, mr. andrews." she said and he let out a hardy chuckle. fred had been a father figure to betty since the very first day she met the andrews.
he looked so different. pale and sickly were the first things you thought when you saw him. they used to be strong and healthy.
it saddened her seeing him in this state. he was one of the strongest people she knew, along with archie. the andrews men were some of the best people betty had ever met. they got through everything, because they had each other.
"so why the sudden drop in? you gonna start coming around again?" fred asked hopefully. betty turned to archie and smiled.
"i felt like it was about time i checked up on you two, and don't fret you will definitely be seeing more of me soon." archie couldn't contain the grin that spread across his face.
"we're going to go do some homework upstairs, dad."

"how do you understand any of this? it's impossible." archie groaned as he let his textbook fall to the floor.it had only been 20 minutes and archie was already giving up. he was sitting at his desk, feet propped up, while betty and her books were sprawled out across his bed.
"it's really not that hard if you apply yourself, arch. maybe you should try spending a little more time on school work." archie feigned a hurt expression.
"excuse me elizabeth, but are you suggesting i'm not putting all my effort into this?" betty giggled as archie threw a pillow at her.
"yes, yes i am archibald." she cocked an eyebrow at him.
"wow betty, i cant believe you really just whole named me." archie feigned a hurt expression.
