"I need to tell you something, it's important. call me back please." Betty said as she finished her voicemail to Archie.
Betty figured she wouldn't get a response for awhile, Archie never checked his phone anymore. She began some schoolwork that she desperately needed to catch up on, ever since everything with the black hood began she had no time to just be a teenager.
A knock came from outside Betty's window. She walked over and peered out, but nothing looked unusual. She continued to look out the window for any sign she wasn't loosing her mind, specifically a black-hooded sign. When she didn't see anything she turned around, and resumed her homework.
Another knock came as something hit the glass pane. Betty got up to check the window, yet again, but still nothing. Right as she was getting ready to start her homework again, a face popped into her window.
She let out a shriek as the redhead let out a proud chuckle. Betty pulled the window open, and Archie dragged himself through.
"What the hell, Arch!" She smacked his arm, "You could've just come through the front door like a normal person."
Archie rolled his eyes.
"Number one that's boring, and B.) i don't want whoever isn't letting you talk to me seeing me all up in your room." He flopped back onto the bed.
"Yeah, I guess I kind of forgot about that." She gave him a weak smile, and his demeanor immediately changed.
"Hey, it'll be okay. We'll get through this just like we always do, together." He sat up on her bed, and she planted herself next to him.
"So, I take it you got my voicemail." Betty said.
"Nah, I just decide to climb through your window because I wanted to ask you what color I should paint my nails." She nudged him with her shoulder, and he nudged her back.
"So what did you want to talk about?" He laid back on her bed, and stared at the ceiling. Betty joined him a few seconds later.
"I need you to promise that if I tell you this you'll never tell anyone, ever." She turned to face him and he did the same.
Archie hadn't noticed how close their faces were, but Betty did. If she moved one centimeter there noses would touch. Her cheeks immediately reddened, he was so clueless.
"I promise." He said genuinely. She held up her pinky, and he rolled his eyes.
"Really, Betty? We haven't done a pinky promise since we swore not to tell my dad that we broke the lawnmower, in fifth grade." It was Betty's turn to roll her eyes.
"And he still doesn't know, which proves that they work." She stuck her pinky out yet again. He finally complied, and intertwined their little fingers.
"Now tell me." Archie ordered.
She took a deep breath as she began.

"So that's why I can't talk to you." She finished her story."Okay, so the black hood has been calling you and telling you not to talk to people or he'll hurt them?" It came out as a question.
"Yes." Archie closed his eyes as he tried to wrap his head around the situation.
"I-... we-... why?" He finally spat out, as he sat up.
"Your guess is as good as mine." Betty said as she sat up too.
"I just don't understand why out of everyone in town he picked you. He could've picked a influential businessman, or the mayor. But no, he picks a teenage girl, a powerless-" He stopped talking as realization hit him.
