Flashback Harry
Zayn has been listless for the past few days. His eyes were sad and his movements seemed powerless. I feel sorry for him and can't show it. I want to hug him but I can't. Zayn is engaged. That's why I ended our relationship. I have to move on.
Louis helps me and comfort me in this tough time. I'm grateful for that. He is the clown and cheers me up.
The boys ordered pizza tonight. We meet at Niall's. When I enter the living room, everyone is already there - except Zayn.
"Where is Zayn?" I ask in the round. "
Haz, so you don't know yet?" Liam asks.
"What shall I know?". Fear attacks me.
"Zayn is taking a longer break, he's not feeling well, you noticed that."
My face is pale. My mind is racing. I'm sitting there apathetically, my hands in my lap and I grieve. He just left. Nobody knows when he'll be back. Zayn didn't tell me anything.
Niall takes me in his arms, comforting me.
"Harry, don't take it that hard," he whispers in my ear.
Louis seems apathic. He is glad that I spend more time with him again. It's written in his face, how annoyed he is about the whole thing. Then he suddenly points to a message from Zayn on Twitter. I read it and I'm wounded, truly, my heart is broken. Tears shoot into my eyes. I jump up and run away. I just want to leave. Zayn is so cowardly! When things get difficult, he always runs away! He can't look me in the eyes anymore after this tweet. Does he now enjoy the days with Perrie?
From an impulse, I post him an answer. Of course this isn't the smartest idea, but I have to vent my emotions. The burden is huge. I threaten to suffocate.
"We don't need no piece of paper from the city hall."
Zayn will understand my answer and hopefully realize how sad I am. The ambivalence that we love each other beyond all measure, but must avoid each other, drives me crazy. I had to break up with him. You can't be in a relationship with someone who is engaged. It hurts me a lot because Zayn feels the same. I know he was against the engagement with Perrie. He was committed to it. Nevertheless, I am hurt.
