It was a sunny afternoon in may
My feelings were calm, and at bay
I was in a car, moving fast
Then I saw an image, in my mind it last

It was you, walking alone this busy road
I wondered, why you walked alone such a long road
My eyes enlarged, like dinner plates
As I faced away, hoping you didn't catch a glimpse of my face

You were wearing gray, and I was too
I then remembered how I loved gray on you
You were wearing gray yet something bothered me and it lasted
How come I am seeing you in colors that never existed?
