CHAPTER 7

Hannah's POV:

Dear Diary,
Things have been going great ever since I transferred schools. I'm found people who genuinely like me for me and not just fake around.
Olivia Johnson, also known as Liv, is the most mature teenager I have met in my life. She's like my mom at school. She takes care of me, helps me and guides me through everything.
Charlotte White, Char, the most enthusiastic and friendly person ever. She was the first to befriend me at school and introduce me to the others. I'm glad I found her.
Dennis Riverton, I haven't really thought of a new nickname for him yet but the process is still on. That guy is one annoying piece of shit. He's hell sarcastic but a braniac. He's even on the team with me.
Oh I didn't tell you, I made the team. Tryouts were last week and considering that I had put a lot of efforts in practising, I was kinda sure that I would join the team.
Though half credit for this goes to Jacob.
Jacob Price. There's so much to tell you about him. He is like the perfect best friend you can ask for. He's always there for me. He and I have grown pretty close over the past few days. I feel comfortable talking to him and sharing whatever I feel with him. I turn into this entirely different person when he's around. He cares for me the way no one has ever cared before. He has a different kind of savageness within him which is annoying but he's genuine and loyal.
Not gonna say much now. Well, I have homework so I'll talk to you later.
Love,
Hannah.

Days passed by the blink of an eye and finally it was time for the basketball tournaments. I was waiting for Jacob outside my locker. He said that he had something for me and wanted to give it to me before the match. I was wearing my basketball jersey which had number 10 written on the back. It was blue in colour with a shark, our school mascot, in the front. Suddenly, I felt something cold on my neck. Touching, I felt a metal necklace with a pendant being pit around my neck. I turned around to see Jacob standing and smiling sheepishly at me.

"What is this?" I ask admiring the little present he had given me. It was a small silver chain with a basketball pendant in it. It looked delicate and fragile.

"It's your good luck charm." He replied casually like it wasn't a big of a deal.

"Its beautiful. Thank you so much." Was all I could say as I too busy admiring that little gesture which was round my neck.

"All the best for your game and meet me later. Okay?"

"Yeah and good luck to you too."

We had our match against the West Shore Panthers. The match was an easy win. I scored 4 baskets leading the team to victory. The boys had their match against the West Shore Panthers as well. The scoreboard was tied by the end. Just as the extra time was about to end, Jacob scored a basket which declared the victory of the East Shore Sharks, both girls and boys.

Noah threw a party at his home in honour of the win of the Sharks. The party was fun. There was a DJ at one corner who was playing really cool songs while large speakers were situated at the rest of the corners through which loud music was blasting. Everybody was enjoying themselves on the dancefloor, including me. I had a really great time.

The next morning, I was woken by the ringing of my doorbell. I looked at my phone to see that it was only 6:30 am in the morning. My head was aching as hell and I was half hungover, not that I drank alcohol last night. I opened to see Jacob standing at my doorstep. I cringed at him and sat down on the sofa.

"You don't look good."

"I have a really bad headache and I'm feeling really tired."

"I knew this was coming and so I brought aspirin with me. Take it, feel better, get ready and come to school."

"I don't wanna go to school."

"You have no option. Take this and go now."

"Okay."

I return after taking a shower to find an outfit set on my bed. It was a white crochet tank top matched with a short- long blue- white combo flower printed skirt. He had a good sense of fashion. I wore the outfit and admired myself. It wasn't my usual style but I looked cute. I matched it with a pair of silver white bracelets and navy blue boots. I tied my hair up into a messy bun leaving a few strands out.

I found Jacob sitting on the kitchen table with a cup in his hand.

"Woah." He stared at me from top to bottom.

" You look amazing, Han."

"Han? You got me a new nickname. And thanks for the compliment and the selection."

"Yup and I'm gonna call you Han from now on whether you like it or not." He says handing me the cup of coffee.

We reach school to find Dennis sitting in the cafeteria talking to a girl. Her back was faced to us so we couldn't see who she was but she looked beautiful. She had short hair which were dropped till her shoulders in perfect curls.

"Hey Dennis. Who's your friend?"

"Hey. Hannah, Jacob, this is Allison. Allison, that's Jacob and Hannah."

"Hey. Nice to meet you. Hannah Anderson." I say waving a hand at her. She was really pretty. Her eyes were ocean green and she was extremely fair. She cheeks showed dimples whenever she smiled and that made her look cute.

"Allison Collins." She replies waving back at me.

We turn around to see a huge banner being hung up by a few people. When they move aside, I read the banner and only one word there catches my eye; 'HOMECOMING'.
