"WINTER BREAK IS HERE!" taehyung shouts, busting open the doors of the school and running into the open air of the season.

"yay, break," jaynie cheers sullenly. she fist pumps half-heartedly. "whoo."

she and jimin still hadn't talked yet, and it seemed as though he was avoiding her.

however, he wasn't mad. it was all part of the plan.

she walks through the fallen snow, the white ice crunching beneath her boots every time she stepped. jaynie watched the frozen water be imprinted by the shape of her shoe.

"hello."

her head snaps up, and she topples over backward, falling into the snow.

jimin was too close for comfort.

i mean, not that she minded much.

"sorry jaynie, didn't mean to scare you or anything." he holds out a hand for her. she huffs and turns away, trying to get up by her own means.

instead, she slips and falls face first back into to snow.

he muffled his laughter, trying to keep a straight face.

jaynie pulls herself up onto her hands, quickly scrambling back when she notices the boy still there. "wh-wha—" she shuts up when he comes closer, red spreading across her cheeks.

"i came to see you." he states simply. she stares at him in shock.

"i, i um..."

"what's wrong?"

"i'm just surprised, yeah! i'm surprised." she says, looking away. his eyebrows come  i together.

"is it bad that i want to see you?"

jaynie is quick to defend with an "no, not at all!" and shakes her head adamantly.

jimin chuckles lightly, moving away to shove his hands into his pockets. he stares out into the distance, the cool air surrounding them filled with silence.

"a-are you mad at me?" he turns his head to look at her with a questioning gaze.

"why would i be mad at you?"

she stares at the ground, tripping over her words. "i-i just, you seemed like..."

"why would you care anyways?" he looks away with an expression she can't decipher. "it's not like i'm anything to you anyways."

jaynie gapes at this. of course he was something to her!

"what?" she snaps her head up, jumping to her feet, and begins to list things, counting on her fingers. "you've become one of the coolest friends i've had in my life. yeah, you may be a little bit deceptive and hard to decipher at times, and you mess with my feelings, make my stomach do backflips off of my heart, give me breathing problems, you have fucking perfect hair, a nice body, you're kind all the way around and you're so perfect and i just—" she pauses from the rant when she realizes what she just said.

"i just," she continues. "i like you. maybe... maybe more as a friend..."

jaynie's eyebrows come together as she processes this newfound information. sure, she had known it all this time, but she shoved her fluttery feelings into the back of her heart and didn't look for them ever again in fear of...what? crushing on someone who wasn't an actor?

she's swept out of her thoughts by the feeling of two arms wrapping around her waist, and a chin on her shoulder. her heart begins palpitating, and red arises on her cheeks.

"thank you." jimin says, snuggling further into her shoulder and breathing in her natural scent.

"f-for wha—"

"for falling for me."
