Lisa's POV:

It's my birthday today, I should be excited to have survived another year, but I was far from it. You'll know why.

.............

After ditching school yesterday, I decided to drive around to clear my head and after a few hours I realized I had probably overreacted. Yes she hurt me but how can I blame her? She's taken and doesn't feel the same way, it should've never happened in the first place. And I do recall telling her that I don't care what kind of label we have, I don't want to disappear from her life. And that is definitely better than nothing.

Right?

..........

"Lisa baby, wake up." I smile softly hearing the voice of my mother who was delicately caressing my hair. I flutter my eyes open and smile wide seeing my mother with a small box. I sit up excitedly,

"What's that?" I ask. She chuckles and hands me the box,

"Happy birthday baby." I smile as she leans over and kisses my forehead. She leans back and sits on my bed, patiently waiting for me to open my present. I open the box and gasp,

"Mom! It's beautiful!" It was a necklace that had a beautiful silver crescent moon. I look back up to my mom and quickly embrace her tightly,

"Thank you so much!" She embraces back and giggles,

"Of course baby!" We pull away and I instantly look behind her, hoping to see a certain provider, but seeing no one there my smile immediately falters. My mom follows my gaze and sighs,

"He has to go to work but he promises he'll be here tonight to have our traditional birthday dinner and movie night." She reassures me. I nod with a small smile on my face. My mom gets up and kisses my head one more time,

"Now hurry up and get ready for school," I chuckle and nod. I watch her leave and as soon as she closes my door my smile instantly drops. I know I shouldn't be worried but things have been different in this house hold. My dad and I haven't really had a long conversation for almost a year now it it's slowly killing me. I miss my best friend. I quickly shake my head, removing my worries and hop off my bed. He would never miss my birthday,

'Right?'

I walk towards the window and swiftly open the curtain but quickly gasp in surprise seeing Jennie opening hers simultaneously. Her eyes widen in surprise as well, and for a moment I couldn't take my eyes off her.

She seemed to have just woken up and she looked absolutely stunning. She smiles softly towards me, causing my heart to beat madly against my chest. She lifts up herself hand and sends me a small wave. I smile softly and nod towards her before leaving the window to grab my clothes for school. I feel my heart race as I can still feel her cat like eyes boring into the back of my skull. I slowly turn back to the window and bite the inside my cheek to suppress a smile. As soon as I turned around her eyes quickly widen in surprise and swiftly closes her curtains. I shake my head and chuckle,

'What a strange girl.'

...........

"Bye mom!" I yell out as I quickly exit my house. I walk towards my bike whistling happily to myself believing that today was going to be a great day. As I began to place my bag inside my seat I hear Jennie's front door opening. I look towards her house and furrow my eyebrows in confusion seeing her rushing towards me. I feel my heart race seeing her shyly looking down while walking my way. She stands in front of me and before I can ask her if she was okay, she quickly hands me a birthday bag. My eyes widen ins surprise,

"What's this?" I ask. She looks away with blushing cheeks,

"Happy birthday," I slowly grab the bag from her hand and softly smile seeing her fidgeting nervously in front of me. I open the bag and giggle seeing a toy motorcycle that resembled my real bike. I chuckle and slowly grab her hand, squeezing it slightly. She gasps at my action and looks up at me with flushed cheeks. I smile,
