Kirstie woke stretching and immediately felt fear. She looked around starting to panic she sniffled cuddling into Avi causing him to wake.
"Kirst are you ok..?"
"Y-Yeah just a l-l-little s-scared I f-forgot I w-was in u-your room..."
"I'm sorry.... do you feel better after napping...?" He asked
"Y-yeah.... I-it was j-just a-a lot...... a-all t-these m-m-memories...." She said
Avi closed his eyes "I got you now..... I will protect you....."
She moved closer and closer to him snuggling into his chest. Avi smiled and started rubbing her back.
"Sir... I w-w-want to s-still d-do the a-activities...." she said
"Really...? Are you sure...?" He said
"Y-Yeah you p-planned it... i j-just... c-can we n-not talk a-about it t-today please... I w-want to e-enjoy this d-day....." She said
"Of course. But Scott and I will talk about this later because we want you to start doing therapy with Matt." He said
"O-okay.... I-I've never d-done that..." she said
"Matt's really good. He's one of the best" Avi said
"Thank you sir.... i-I'm really h-hungry..." She said starting to get up
"Well... we made you a birthday lunch but we're weren't sure if you still wanted it" Avi said
" I d-do... I just w-want to f-forget about it and enjoy today... h-he's going to jail a-and my m-mom will be safe... " she said smiling
"That's a great attitude sweetie....." Avi smiled
"Your very nice..." she whispered blushing
"Thank you beautiful." He said standing up.
"Do.... do you a-actually m-mean it?" She asked "you always say I'm beautiful.... do you you just say it...? "
He turned his face full of concern "Of course I do! I think your the prettiest girl in the whole world!" He said. His eyes widened and he covered his mouth embarrassed.
Kirstie blushed playing with her hair "Wow...."
He was bright red "Come on let's go..."
He quickly walked out and she blushed following him.
Avi walked out seeing Matt sitting next to Kirstie's mom who was drinking tea.
Her mom stood up starting to cry and Kirstie walked to her "m-mom..... its okay now w-were gonna be ok" she said smiling
Kirstie's mom nodded and wiped her face hugging her.
Avi smiled slightly and spoke up "Scott, Kirstie said she would still like to celebrate her birthday"
Scott smiled "That's great! Mitchy? You want to help me make her birthday sandwiches?"
"Of course Alpha!" He smiled running and holding Scott's hand.
Kirstie rubbed her moms back and she sniffled "Its ok m-momma.... it's gonna be okay.... Scott's m-mom and dad can help you and h-help you find a job"
"Your right baby.... I just feel awful.. your own birthday...." she said
"M-m-Mom everything is going to be ok.... A-a-Avi said I was going to try therapy" she said
Kirstie's mom nodded wiping her face. "M-m-m-momma I'm going to pee"
Kirstie kissed her cheek and walked down the hall.
Kirstie's mom started crying and bit her nails and Matt stood "Miss Maldonado? Would you like some more tea"
She nodded and walked over quietly. She was distant and upset. "I-I'm s-Sorry... "
"We understand...." Avi said sitting next to her
"I-I'm s-scared.... it's a lot... w-what he d-did to h-her a-again! And h-him going to jail... and now l-living with S-Scott's parents...w-what I-if I'll n-never be a-able to care for m-myself" she said
"That won't happen.... they want to help you till you can get up on your feet again" Matt said
"Your too kind..." she said softly
Kirstie walked out as they were setting the table "Oh my gosh!!! This is amazing!!" She said licking her lips.
"Thank you!!" Mitch squealed "All your favorites!!"
"My parents are on there way miss Maldonado. They just couldn't wait to meet you!" Scott said
"That's great! I can't wait!" She smiled softly.
They all sat at the table as Kirstie stood again.
"Where are you going dear?" Angelica said.
"The b-bathroom..." She said wiping her forehead.
"You just went though...?" Avi said
She got up running and after a few seconds she walked out.
"I smell throw up." Scott said scrunching his nose.
"It's nothing... l-let's enjoy t
m-m-my birthday!" She said
"Kirstie I smell a high fever...." Avi said standing up concerned as did Scott.
"No!! No you d-don't let's e-enjoy my birthday, I h-haven't had one in years! Y-you worked so hard..." she said starting to cry.
"We can do it tomorrow.." Mitch said.
"I j-just... I j-just...." Kirstie's eyes rolled backed as she crumbled to the ground.
