As Ben and Gibbs arrived at the Pearl they saw Jack and Kira already standing on the main deck.

"He lets her wear his hat?", Ben asked Gibbs in confusion.
"True love, my boy. True love," Gibbs nodded.

"Finally," Kira sighed, stroking the black wood. Jack was leaning on to the mast, taking a sip of rum.
"The Black Pearl," Kira murmured, walking up to the quarter deck.

The wind around her nose and the wood in her hands...
"Aye, this is better!", she said.

Jack walked up next to her.
"Where d'we go?", she asked him.

"Wherever our hearts want to be," he said.

"Casanova," she commented.
He grinned.

"Take me to the horizon...", she whispered in his ear, putting his hat back onto his dreads, "...Captain."

He smiled.

"Haven't seen that kind o' smile on our captain in a long time, lad," Gibbs told Benjamin who was stocking up the chambers with rum.

"Should I feel honoured to see it?", Ben asked, looking up at Jack and Kira.

"Kira should be. She doesn't really get the point that she's torturing him. Because she's torturing herself."

"I don't understand. What do you mean?"

"Stop asking questions now, I'll tell you later. Go to work, boy!"
Ben did as he was told.

"You know, boy," he heard small Marty behind him, "If ya want real answers, not only sailor's yarn, ya should go 'n' ask Kira yerself."

Ben turned around as if Marty had just told him to jump into the sea during a storm.

"Bite the bullet, little one," Marty said, grinning and showing all his brown tooth.

Kira was sitting on the main topmast just above the topsail, swinging her legs and enjoying the view. She took a deep breath.

That scent... it reminded her... of her home, no. No, of her birthplace. Her home was... Something else. Somewhere else.
What this scent reminded her of was not her home anymore.
It reminded her...

"Nymphadora, Goddess of the sea, mother of Calypso and Kira

"Nymphadora, Goddess of the sea, mother of Calypso and Kira. Blue skinned, mighty and wise..., that's what they write about me. They are cute those human beings, aren't they? With their ships and wars and love, don't you think? Kira?", Nymphadora looks around, searching for her child. She finds her, sitting on a stone, looking up at the sun falling into the water from up there in the sky.

Her Kira. She is so... different. Not like her. Kira is dreaming about the human beings and the air and the land.
Nymphadora can't understand her.

"What do you want up there?", she asks.
"I want to see them," Kira explains, "I want to breathe air and feel the ground and the wood and the skin of a human being."
"Kid! What shall I do with you?!"
"Please! Let me go up to them!", she begs.

Nymphadora looks at her child, blue skinned like her, with beautiful blue eyes and black hair.

"There would be a whole lot of magic necessary to make you look like them," her mother mentions.
"But you are mighty, right? That would be no problem for you!", Kira says, her voice sweet as honey.

Nymphadora sighs. Then, she has an idea.
"My, dear child. You can go up if you want to. I will make you look like them - human. You'll see, those people are dull and stupid and you'll come back to me, I know it.
But you have to promise me one thing before you go!"
"Anything, mother," Kira nods excitedly.

"Don't fall in love! If you do, your loved one shall be dead and you shall come back to me immediately and never leave the sea again."

"I promise, mother!", Kira says, not knowing what she is doing there.
Nymphadora laughs as Kira goes up. She knows exactly there'll be a soul, waiting for her and a daughter, chained to her forever.
As soon as the words were spoken...

"Captain?" Kira heard the voice of a little boy calling up to her.

"You mean me?", she shouted back.

"Aye, madame!", the boy answered.

Kira smiled, deciding that she liked that boy. She climbed down and landed in front of him. "Aye, who are you?", she asked.

"Just an unimpotant boy," he answered.
"Don't be humble. I'm a pirate! And so are you," she adviced him, "We shouldn't be humble, eh?"
He laughed a little. "My name is Benjamin Morgan. They call my Ben."

"Alright, Ben. What do you want?", her blue eyes made him uncomfortable. Or was it her beauty?
"I... I don't know if I'm at permission to ask, but-"
"We're pirates. We don't ask for permission," Kira said to the short boy.
"Well, I wanted to ask how you and Jack met."

Kira laughed at the boy, "That's not how you ask a question like that, aye?!"
He lowered his look bashfully.

"Look at me," she commanded. He did as he was told. "Chest out, stand staight," she told him.
"Now," she looked down at him, her voice a little softer, "Strong voice, mischivious smile, and ask me again."
The boy took a deep breath.

"Now, how did you and Jack meet?", he said casually and with a small smile.

"Here you go boy. That's a pirate, right there. A captain."
Ben blushed a little.
"Now, me and Jack..."
Kira eyed at the boy. She liked him, somehow.

"Sit," she said and they sat down together.
"Well, I met Jack many years ago. He was already captain of the Black Pearl, or at least more or less. His crew didn't want him as a captain anymore, so there was a mutiny. They abandoned him and left him on a lonely island, with only one bullet in his pistol."

"Aye," said Ben. He'd heard of that scenario.

"So, as Jack, the maroon was wandering around on the deserted island, slowly but surely becoming insane, I was on a ship with some rum smugglers. Luckily they used the one island Jack was trapped on as a depot, so we found Jack and took him with us. I mean, I persuaded the smugglers to take him with us. No one wants an insane pirate on their ship-"

"But you did?", Benjamin asked.
Kira smiled and her eyes landed on Jack who was studying his compass.
"Aye, I did."
"Why?"
"He's captain Jack Sparrow, my boy. Now, do you wanna hear the story or not?", she said, a little too sharp maybe.
"Of course I want to!"

"Then batten down the hatches! So, he came with us and we dropped him off on Tortuga where he wanted to get a ship. I followed him. We always had this... kinda... chemistry. However, we got separated as I went to a good friend of Jack's while he got the Black Pearl back from Barbossa."

"A good friend of Jack's?"

"They were... kind of. Now she's gone. Some would say she was a witch, others say, she was just crazy. But I know her better than anyone else and let me tell you, she is neither a witch nor crazy. She's... more.
Now, don't you have work to do?"

"Aye, captain," and Ben quickly ran away, searching for undone work.

Kira couldn't help but feel some kind of appreciation for the skinny boy.
