How could I forget you?

Repun.

Like a trigger.
It hit her.
Like a bullet.

Repun.

"Nymphadora...", his voice is gentle as she holds his hands to her chest. He is lying on a bed, made out of sea plants and corals. His dark skin seems so pale. Paler than it should ever be.

"Repun, no. Don't do this. I won't let you, I won't let them," Nymphadora whispered, tears in her eyes, as salty as the water around them.

"Death is not a choice and it shouldn't be. It's a chance," he responds.

"Don't take the chance, Repun. I need you! I need you... Think of our child, Calypso. I need you to be there!"

"You'll make a great mother," he smiled as his hand reached up to cup her face. His body seems to glow, but in a surreal, spooky way like a ghost.

"You can't fade. They can't forget you, please!"
But he's fading like every God does when the people stop believing in them and turn against them.

"Nymphadora. Tell Calypso I love her."
"No, Repun! I need you!"
And she breaks down in tears, sobbing into his shirt.

And the last thing he says, looking into her eyes, before he fades away like mist.
His last words...

"I love you."

Nymphadora is a Goddess. But that doesn't keep her from mourning.

Every day she goes out onto the coral reefs and watches the sea and the waves and the sunlight.
And she mourns. And she begs the world to give her Repun back.

Her Repun.

The one. The only one.

And she cures the people of the land. She curses the human race for being so stupid and ignorant and forgetting Repun. How could they? How could they forget him?!

And then, it happens. The sillouette of a ship and a sudden, white light.
And as she opened her eyes, there was a baby. A tiny baby, way too tiny - Human-tiny!
But her skin was blue, like hers. Not human at all, that little girl.

She gets closer and the baby's eyes widened as she did so.

"Shush. I won't hurt you, little one," she says and holds the baby in her hand.
"Hello," Nymphadora smiles.
And then she sighs, "You'll never experience heartbreak. I promise you."
And the little baby gulped.

"Kira," Nymphadora mumbles as those big eyes look at her, "My child."

Sudden reality.
Blood.

Blood on Kira's blade.

"Kira! Don't! I'll break it!", Nymphadora screamed.
Kira froze, the sword still in her hands. There was a little cut in her throat, of maybe an inch depth.

"Come here, my child."

Slowly Kira moved towards her until she was very close to her mother.

"I...", her mother sighed, "You were right. I'm not your mother."
"What?", Kira's voice was less than a whisper.
"I found you, Kira. After Repun... died," she swallowed the word.
