"I'll be right back." I told Taehyung.

He looked at me with a confused expression.
"Just go in my bedroom. I won't be long." I added.

He made the most goofy mischievous smile, I couldn't help but laugh.

After I shut my door, I sprinted down the hallway.
I barely caught Seokjin at the elevator.
"Kim Seokjin... What are you doing here?" I was out of breath, my hand holding the doors from closing.

"You... Said you needed me." He looked away, his cheeks coloring. "That you needed help, I mean. But I, uh, saw that everything is okay now."

"How did you get here so fast?" I inquired. I had only texted him minutes ago, after all.

"... I was in the neighborhood." He replied, looking down.

He's lying. But why?

The doors tried to close but I slammed my hand against them to keep them open.

I'm going to get some answers, damn it.
I've drank too much wine not to.

"What am I to you, Kim Seokjin?" I demanded.

His expression darkened as he looked up at me. "What am I to you, Josephine LeRoux?" He snapped. "You messaged me that you needed me..."

"And here you are." I finished for him.
He shut his mouth audibly.

Someone cleared their throat.

I blushed as I moved aside to let a man enter the elevator.

When I realized he was going to close the doors, I hopped in.

The silence was deafening.

The stranger was obviously aware he had intruded on... Something.

When we reached his floor, the man hurried off.
Unfortunately, even more people piled in, causing me to move closer to Seokjin.

"Answer my question." I whispered loudly.

A woman nearby eyed us.

Seokjin looked down at me, furrowing his brow.
"Taehyung has been a dear friend of mine for quite some time." He replied, quietly.

I frowned at him. "What does that mean?"

He sighed, very audibly.

His gaze turned sad.

So sad, I felt as if I would cry at any moment.

Suddenly, his phone beeped.
He looked at it.

I wasn't being nosey or anything.
I was just so close to him, I had happened to see.

Chaeyoung:
- Hurry back, Jinnie, they're about to start playing! ♥️

The elevator stopped, the others filing out.

We were at the bottom floor.

I was about to pretend I didn't see it, but Seokjin caught me looking
.
"Er... There's a small concert I was attending.." he began.

"I understand." I replied, stepping away from him. I pressed the button to my floor. "You should go. It's rude to keep people waiting."

He stood there for a moment; I could feel his eyes on my back.

Just as the doors were about to shut, he caught them, and stepped out.
He turned back towards me. "Josephine, I--"

"Enjoy your evening, Kim Seokjin." I cut in, pressing the button to shut the doors.

I collasped backward on the elevator railing, resting my head against the wall.
I let out a long breath.

I hadn't realized I was holding it in.

I guess it was just never meant to be..
