A month ago, a sword never had been in Kira's hands. The teenager never believed herself to be the violent type, then again she never knew of her family's supernatural history. Now, everything was different.

Scott's back pressed against her own, both of them surrounded by the Oni. Neither of them had a moment to even catch their breath, too busy defending themselves and each other.

With every minute Stiles felt himself weakening, even as he crouched beside Lydia behind a snowy bridge. Anxiety caused his fingers to tremble and what once was a dull ache covered him from head to toe. Kira used her utmost strength to keep her katana level with the Oni's sword, but the battle was draining her. Swiftly, the Oni was able to fling her katana out of her grasp and onto the snow a few feet away. Then, it pointed its own sword at her in warning, daring her to even take a step.

And then, Stiles took the game into his own hands.

"Stiles, no!" Scott shouted in protest, fighting the tight grip the Oni held on him. "Stiles!"

The Nogitsune growled at the sight of the katana's end close to Stiles' abdomen, the boy ready to take his own life to spare everyone else. His hands were shaking, his focus only on the sword.
