Sapphire's POV:

Nick and I joined the rest of our year on our way to Hogsmead. It was the last visit of the year, because summer break started tomorrow. Everyone would be on the Hogwarts express early tomorrow morning, except for me. I'd be getting up to an empty common room until I got to move into my private quarters. Having my own little space would be better than staying in a large abandoned common room. I pressed my thoughts to the back of my mind as Nick and I walked into the Three Broomsticks to grab a glass of butterbeer and something to eat for lunch. He and I already grabbed the candy and the Zonko's items we wanted. All we wanted was to have something to eat before we hung out by the shrieking shack. It was way too beautiful and warm out to stay inside. "I wish that Draco could have came with us, especially since today's the last day we'll all get to hangout." Nick said after Madam Rosemerta brought us out Butterbeer. "I know, but I don't think the professors would mind if we go to the castle after we've hung out here for a little while." I replied. He suggested asking McGonagall or one of the other professors if it would be alright if we left the Hogsmead visit early. Deep down I hoped that we were allowed to leave the village, especially since I wanted to spend some time with Draco before the fest tonight. Madam Rosemerta brought us the food we ordered and we dug in. The two of us just talked while we ate, and he asked me some questions about Gellert. Obviously we didn't use his name since he were around a bunch of people. I was just glad that Nick and Draco were okay with me being in a relationship with a professor. "Aww. He sounds so sweet." Nick said with a smile on his face. "I know, but don't tell anyone that. It'll ruin his reputation." I replied with a smile as well. He laughed slightly and I laughed as well. But Gellert really does have a mysterious sort of reputation amongst the students. I think he and Snape are the only two professors anyone is really afraid of. After Nick and I finished eating we left the Three Broomsticks and made our way over to the shrieking shack. We just sat down on the cool green grass and enjoyed the amazingly beautiful weather. When two o'clock rolled around we found professor McGonagall and asked her if we could go back to the castle. She said we could, but she had to let all of the other professors know that he and I were leaving the village. Once everything was finished we thanked her and left. "Where do you think Draco is right now?" Nick asked me curiously as we made our way to the school. I took a few minutes to think before I spoke up. "He might be in the common room if he isn't with Harry." I replied. After we looked around the school grounds, I took a look in the Slytherin common room. That's where I found him sitting on the black leather couch. "Hey, Nick and I got to come back early from Hogsmead." I said as he turned to look at me. "Did you get a bunch of candy and stuff?" He asked me curiously as we exited the portrait hole. "We got a bunch of stuff, actually." I replied as we joined up with Nick. The three of us talked and joked as we walked towards the astronomy tower to hangout. We split up the candy and Zonko's stuff. After we filled our guts with candy, we went outside to bake in the sun. We didn't eat all of the candy, but that didn't matter. Each of us just took the left over candy to out dorm rooms before we went outside. As we enjoyed the sun I started wondering what Gellert was doing. I figured he was probably busy with grading exams and attending meetings. Even though I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my friends, I couldn't wait to spend more time with Gellert. Being away from him over the past few weeks made me feel a little down. I knew I was going to be spending more time with Snape than anything. At least I didn't have to worry about any students being suspicious of me being with Gellert all the time. Nick, Draco, and I were talking about summer plans and I oddly didn't feel left out. I'd be filling my mind with more knowledge while they'd be goofing off most of the summer. Of course I hoped that Snape would leave me have some days off, but I felt lucky to be able to learn more stuff. Not to mention the fact that it kept me out of an orphanage. "I'll be sending you a bunch of letters. My parents never really do anything over the summer, especially since my father works at the Ministry." Draco said as he ran a hand through his hair. "I think my parents and I are going on vacation, but it's not gonna be a long one." Nick said. "Well, I definitely be writing you guys back. I just hope I have the time." I replied. A comfortable silence settled down around us after a few minutes of just talking. After a while, Harry and his friends came by. Harry took a seat next to Draco and they shared a sweet kiss. Both of them blushed. "It's finally the last day of school. I'm really gonna miss you, Harry. Promise you'll write me over the summer." Draco said to Harry with a pleading look in his eyes. "I'll try my best. You know how strict my aunt Petunia and uncle Vernon are." He replied. Ron and Hermione sat on the other side of me, and we smiled at each other. The two of them were holding hands. 'They really do make a cute couple.' I thought inside of my head. Nick came over to where I was sitting to give Draco and Harry have some space. Hermione, Ron, Nick, and I just talked about the end of year exams. "I really hope I passed everything. I have a good feeling about my Herbology exam, but I'm not sure about my Charms exam." Hermione said. "Relax, you probably got outstanding on all of them anyway." Ron said with a small laugh. "I said the same thing to Sapphire." Nick said with a small laugh of his own. The rest of the day flew by, and before I knew it it was dinner time. All six of us walked into the Great Hall together, which drew some attention. None of us really cared though. Draco and Harry kissed each other before they went to their separate tables. "He's so cute." Draco said, blushing slightly as he and I sat down. I couldn't help the smile that was on my face. I was so happy for them! After what felt like forever Dumbledore stood up to start his end of year speech. "First of all, I'd like to thank all of you for another magical year. I hope all of you learned a lot here at Hogwarts; no doubt that all of you will forget most of it over the summer holiday." He said as his sparkling blue eyes canvassed the tables of students. Dumbledore talked for a few more minutes before it was time to announce the winner of the house cup. "All of you have done extravagantly with collecting house points this year. I have to say that I've impressed, especially since it was such a close competition." He said. The energy and excitement was so powerful it was almost overwhelming. Everyone was sitting on the edges of their seats to hear who had won the house cup. "However, one of the houses have gained the post points. So... without further ado.... Slytherin wins the house cup!" He said the last words quite loudly. Our table erupted with cheers and excitement. The scarlet banners and decorations for Gryffindor changed to the emerald green of Slytherin house. I clapped loudly with a huge smile on my face. I was so happy and excited that I didn't even notice the house's reactions. Dumbledore calmed everyone down, and the tables filled with food. After I filled my plate I glanced up at the staff table and seen Gellert smiling down at me. I returned the smile before I looked over at Snape, who looked rather pleased that his house had won the house cup. McGonagall looked sort of disgruntled, but it wasn't a surprise; her house is Gryffindor after all. "I can't believe that we actually won! Ever since Potter came we've always been thrown in second place." I heard one of the Slytherin's say from the other side of the table. "Even though my boyfriend is in Gryffindor, I'm really glad that we won." Draco said with a huge smile on his face. "I'm glad we won as well." I replied with a smile of my own. We ate and I made sure to leave some room for desert even though I had a bunch of candy earlier. Draco did the same. After dinner was finished we were dismissed from the Great Hall. Nick, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, and I met up with each other in the astronomy tower instead of going to our common rooms. We just talked and enjoyed each other's company as we watched the sunset on the Hogwarts grounds. It was their last night here, but it wasn't mine. I really hoped that Gellert and I could sit up here and watch the sunset together. I'm sure he'd really enjoy it. "Is everyone packed for tomorrow morning?" Hermione asked all of us curiously. "Yep." Everyone replied except for me. "I'm not, I'm staying here over the summer." I said, and I had to explain that Snape wanted me to train as an assistant. They were surprised that he wanted an assistant, even if I am a Slytherin. "She's brilliant at potions though. I think that's why. And she's very smart." Draco said. "Yeah, she's basically the reason I didn't fail my potions exams. She helps Draco and I study for every subject." Nick said with a small smile. "Thanks to her I passed my Divination exams and stuff." Draco admitted. Hermione was now looking at me suspiciously, but I didn't let it bother me too much. It wasn't like I was handing my friends answers to their homework assignments; I actually helped them learn on their own. Before it was time for curfew, we all left the astronomy tower. Draco and Harry hugged and kissed before they went their separate ways. Nick gave Draco and I hug before he went to the Hufflepuff common room. Hermione and Ron said their goodbyes before they went to their common room with Harry. "And then there were two." I said as Draco and I walked towards the Slytherin common room. A couple of moments of silence passed between us before either of us spoke. The only sound that filled the quietness was the sounds of our shoes hitting the stone floor. "Yeah.... I'm really gonna miss you and Nick. I'm gonna miss Harry like crazy!" He said as he ran a hand through his bleach blond hair. "I'm gonna miss you guys too." I replied before we entered the portrait hole. The only connection all of us were going to have is writing letters and sending them by owl. I desperately hoped that our letters wouldn't get lost or anything. That would be the worst. I pressed my thoughts to the back of my mind as Draco and I took a seat on the black leather couch. We started into the empty fireplace and just enjoyed each other's company. I wasn't really ready to say goodbye to my friends for the summer, but I knew I had to. Tomorrow morning they'd all be on the Hogwarts express after breakfast. Then I'd be all alone. At least I had Gellert. He'd make me feel better, especially since we could share cuddles and kisses more often now. No one else would notice me spending time out of the Slytherin common room. But we'd still have to be watchful of other professors. A few minutes went by before we said goodnight to each other. I went up to my dorm and changed out of my school robes. After I had my pajamas on I climbed into bed and snuggled into my covers. After a while I eventually fell into a deep sleep. My dreams were filled with thoughts of Gellert Grindelwald, which I didn't mind. I woke up to the sound of birds singing outside of my window. After I stretched and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, I got out of bed. As I got ready for the day I wondered if Snape would start lessons right away. It was Saturday after all, so I desperately hoped he didn't. I went down to the common room and spotted Draco sitting in one of the chairs. When he spotted me we headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast. We talked, laughed, and joked as we ate breakfast. It was like everything was in slow motion, but it was going by super fast as well. It was a contradiction, but that's what it felt like. When the owls came floating in, we shared the Daily Prophet. After we were finished eating, we went up to the Slytherin common room. Since I was staying I decided to just help Draco with his bags. "I hope you have a nice summer here, Sapphire. I'm just glad you didn't have to go back to America." Draco said as I helped him take his things down to the entry hall. The entire castle was buzzing with students and professors. It was a chore to try not to get trampled by anyone. "So am I. I'm sure I'll have a good time here." I replied. A smile spread across his face, and I figured that he was thinking about Gellert being here with me. Nick joined us at the entrance hall as well as our Gryffindor friends. All of us said our goodbyes and gave each other hugs. I stood there and watched my friends leave Hogwarts for the outside world. Once the last student disappeared from view, I turned around and walked towards Dumbledore's office. He told me to meet me there after everyone left anyway. I hadn't thought about this before, but I suddenly realized that Hogwarts had become my home.
