[AERI'S POV]

i was hurriedly putting on my shoes while biting onto a piece of bread.

i was supposed to meet yoojung around 10 minutes ago, to walk to school together like we do everyday..

but i'm running late.

just then, my phone rang.

choi yoojung is calling..
answer call? yes | no

"i know, i'm late.
i'm leaving my house now,
i'll be there in 5 minutes."

"nono, i called to tell you that i can't walk with you today. i'm meeting chan."

"uGh yoojung couldn't you have
texted me i rushed for nothing."

i rolled my eyes, forgetting the fact that she can't see me.

"you dumbass, i did but you didn't read the text so i called you instead"

"oh. opps.."

"uGh aeri, please check your notifications more"

she imitated.

"i'll try. enjoy your date
with chan, hang up."

"becareful on your way, see you"

"okay mom, i get it. bye"

well i guess i will be walking to school alone then.

i was nearing the school gate when someone tapped my shoulder, i turned around to see yena waving and smiling widely at me.

"happy birthday, you old hag!" she hugged me tightly.

RIGHTT.. it's my birthday.

how could yoojung ditch me for her boyfriend on my birthday! hmph.

"thanks hun but i would appreciate if you let this old hag breathe a little."

"just suffocate." she jokingly hugged me tighter before letting go.

i hit her arm before linking our arms.

she has been my close friend since middle school, we only drifted when we got into different classes in high school.

"where's yoojung anyways?" she asked.

"she's busy now that she's taken." i shrugged.

"right.. she's dating chan now." yena's expression fell.

she used to like chan a lot, she was really upset when she found out they were together.

yena and yoojung are pretty close too, i once arranged for the three of us to hang out for them to become good friends too.
