Author's Note (well, it's more of a preamble but that sounds pretentious so...)

"Like thieves we're all,

all in love with stolen hearts."

One of the main reasons I started writing this book is because I felt like I couldn't relate to the main female characters in many of the teen fiction/romance books I read.

There was so much emphasis on being a "good" girl. Perfect attendance, stays away from trouble, good grades...It can't ever simply be 'I made out with that guy just because I think he's hot.' The main characters only ever fall for/ fight over the doormat.

And the worst thing about this was that the girl that I did relate to was the one that was being written off as the bitch or the slut or whatever.

Now seriously ~ You may skip classes, mack over some random guy to your friends, flirting, love shoes, hate doing dishes, etc. but none of these would disqualify you from being important enough to write about.

They say that if you can't find the book you want to read, then it's time for you to write it. So I guess this is my attempt at doing that.
