The New Girl

Chapter 7

After school, I plopped my phone down on the couch next to my dad.

He gave me a perplexed look.

I turned it on for him and showed him that it's broken.

"Well, you did have this thing for 2 years now..."

I grinned.

"Let's go get you a new phone! Come on."

I jumped up and down. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

He drove us down to Verizon and I picked out a gold iPhone 8.

"Thank you dad!" I thanked him about a billion times.

"You're welcome, pumpkin."

It was finally Saturday. I straightened my hair, put on some eyeshadow and eyeliner, and contoured my face. I also put on dark lipstick.

I was so excited for our first date. Was it a date? He didn't explicitly say it was a date but I felt like it was.

David: I'm here, come outside

I chuckled. It was silly that he even had to say he was here since he lives right next door. He's always here.

"What movie theatre are we going to tonight?" I asked.

"There's a movie theatre at Steady Stream Mall we can go to, I'm sure you have no idea where that is since you just moved here but I was thinking we could go shopping afterwards."

"Sounds like fun, what movie are we seeing?"

"That is a surprise!"

When we arrived at the mall, I noticed how nice it looked. It was also an outdoor mall, which surprised me. There were potted plants everywhere with nice landscaping. The trees were shades of red, orange, and yellow.

We got in line at the movie theatre.

"Two tickets for Suicide Squad," he said.

After that, we got in line for concessions.

"What would you like?" he asked me.

"small popcorn and small Pepsi."

He turned to the cashier, "I'll take one large popcorn and two small Pepsi's."

I guess he wants us to share the popcorn, I chuckled.

Inside the showroom, I followed him all the way to the back row. We sat in a place where not too many people were around us.

The movie started and he set his hand down on my thigh. I looked up at him and smiled. I then rested my head on his shoulder. He held my hand. I lifted my head up to get a sip of my drink but he took my cup away.

"Hey!" I whispered.

He gently held my face and he kissed me. I could feel the electricity, I've never had anyone kiss me like that before. I blushed and couldn't stop smiling after we pulled away. He then pulled me back in for a second, and then a third kiss.
