With worried eyes, I ran my fingers through your mane of hair.
I felt useless as you clutched your stomach and winced in agony
I brought you closer, smiling as you snuggled your face into my chest.
I wiped the tears that silently fell from your pretty eyes with the pad of my thumb
I placed my lips on your quivering ones, whispering sweet nothings upon them.
As always, electrical currents ran up my spine.
I brought you Tylenol in which you profusely refused.
Nonetheless, you cracked an exhausted and thankful smile.
All I wanted to do was take care of you.
When the pain subsided, by then, you fell asleep.
I looked down at you enveloped into my arms,
My heart was immensely overwhelmed with warmth.
I'm just glad my attempt at comforting wasn't forlorn.

With love,
