See that distraught looking woman who is having an unusually hard time ringing the doorbell? That's me, Vivanna Grace Hudson. A twenty-four-year old with shoulder length copper hair, an unhealthy obsession with marzipan fruits and also, has the self-confidence of a table lamp.

Oh, and not to mention, was recently possessed by god-knows-what, into saying yes to helping her close friend get married to the love of her life.

Yes, you read that right.

I stood there, staring up at the giant mahogany doors of the villa as I felt a pool of wintry anxiety settle in the pit of my stomach. It's been nearly ten minutes since I had arrived and unlike normal people, who would have rung the doorbell ages ago, I just stood there, mentally wrestling a dilemma.

"Oh god, I can't do this." I whispered breathlessly to myself. "What am I doing here? I should just head back. This is so fucking stupid. Jesus...this is a huge mistake...I can't believe I-"

The man suddenly cleared his throat and I turned around to meet his concerned expression.

"You could um...ring the doorbell. I think they're home, Miss." The chauffeur said, failing to conceal the uneasiness in his tone.

I forced a smile. "Right, of course. Thank you."

It's only been half an hour since I landed in London and I have already weirded out its people.

Great.

I turned around, I took a deep breath and reluctantly pressed onto the bell. The doors opened a few moments later, and there she was. Her face lit up within seconds.

"Viv! It's so nice to see you again!" Hannah squealed and threw herself onto me, causing the both of us to stumble backwards.

She embraced me tightly, and I felt the air rush out my lungs. For someone as small and petite as her, she sure knew how to give bone-breaking hugs.

"It's nice to see you too, Hannah." I mumbled, given the fact her hair was all up in my face and mouth.

She finally pulled away and held me at arm's length. As much as I didn't want to be here, it felt good seeing her again.

"Thank you, Viv, for helping me out with my wedding. It means a lot."

"Of course, Hannah. I'm happy to be here."

For the record, that was a lie.

"And..." She sighed. "I know how much Liam meant to you..."

My heart turned to stone and plunged into my stomach the second she mentioned his name.

"Oh, Liam? Psh," I flicked my hand. "I got over him a long time ago. I'm actually happy you're getting married to him. Really."

Yup, that was a lie too.

"You sure?"

"Of course!" I chirped.

Lieeeeesssssss.

As though she didn't buy it, a sympathetic look flashed across her face.

"Hannah, you don't have to feel bad. He chose you." I chuckled, when really, I wanted the ground to open up and suck me in.
