Chryss

"Ah-huh." Sabay tango ko. "I'm already here."

It's just so.. them.

The house is two storey, the outside have a little space for a garden with some orchids, napapalibutan din ng santan bago ang isang mababang bakod. A lot of hardwood and capiz with mix of bamboo dominated the house. Since it's windy, it's making some sound as it sways by the wind.

So much of their character is screaming in this house. I could imagine them living harmoniously in this home. Charlie swinging in the hammock and Oliver, busy reading a book in front of an oakwood table while sitting comfortable in the rocking chair.

They must have lived a good life here. And I could even picture myself as a kid, laughing while running in the bermuda grass then Charlie's running after me.

"Chryss, you're here!"

He looked so happy seeing me. Sumunod kong nakita si Charlie na kumakaway.

"Welcome, my daughter." Salubong niya sa akin sabay halik sa pisngi.

I grinned. "I am trying to reminisce my memories here as a toddler."

She held my face with some fondness in her eyes. "Ah, and have you remembered?"

"A little." "I'm too young though."

"Yes, you're just one year old when we decided to come back to the states. There's no way you'll remember how happy we lived here."

"Hi, Chad! How's Philippines for you?" Bati ko sa kanya.

"A blast, I could say. We enjoyed Batangas." He told me while grinning.

Tumango ako. Mabuti naman.

"I'm glad you had. I'm feeling guilty that I wasn't able to tour you. It's a good thing Charlie and Oliver still memorized Philippines by heart." Biro ko.

"Don't belittle my love for this country, darling."

"Oh really Dad?" My eyebrow's raised. "You're too old! I bet you lost too many times!" Pagbibiro ko, hindi natinag sa banta niya.

"That's enough. You two.." Charlie shooked her head with the two of us.

We both laughed. As usual, Charlie's our meditator.

"Glad, you have a time to visit us." Charlie said as we sit in the dining area.

I already had breakfast in the mansion but I'll just drink some coffee, then.

"Yeah, they allowed me." Nakangiti kong sagot.

"Who did?" Chad curiously asked.

Napatikhim ako sa tanong niya. Naghahagilap ako ng isasagot sa kanya.

"Her biological parents." Agaw ni Charlie.

Naginhawahan ako sa pagsagot niya. I said my thanks silently to her and she just smiled.

I can always count on my mother. I'm so lucky to have her. To have two parents. It's really a blessing.

Nagpatuloy sila sa kanilang almusal.
