Amanda's POV
Steve got in the truck, started it and drove to the docks. As we were driving Steve turned the radio on. The song 'hunting, fishing, loving everyday by Luke Bryan came on. I gasped "I love this song, do you mind if we listen to this station for a bit?"
"Sure I don't mind." He said, I started to sing along and I could tell Steve was smiling at me.
If I could make a living walking in the woods, you can bet I'd be sitting pretty good.
High on a hill, looking at a field down wind.
If I could make a nickel off a turning 'em bass, never worry about the price of gas.
I'd be wheeling and dealing and sitting there reeling 'em in.
Steve's POV
Hearing Amanda singing with the song was kind of a surprise. Again I know we just met last night but I can't help but think her voice is amazing. "Was your mother a singer or in choir? Cuz you have an amazing voice and I was wondering if you got it from her." She looked at me with a smile and nodded her head. "Yes my mom was and still is in the choir at our church in Modesto, and yes I get my voice from her." There's that sparkle in her eyes again, only this time it was more intense.
"I couldn't help but notice that you didn't bring a weapon with you, your not getting soft on me are you?" I ask with a smirk. "No, I just figured that if I die on your watch, I'll just haunt you for the rest of your life." I looked at her like she was crazy, then I saw her smile. She started laughing and I heard a snort. "Did I just hear you snort?" Amanda just kept on laughing not looking at me.
"Yes I snort when I laugh, I get that from my mother." Her laughter turned into giggles then she calmed down. "I'm kidding about the whole haunting thing, I just say that to scare people. But the look on your face was priceless, I just couldn't keep a straight face." Her smile was so beautiful, I couldn't help but smile along with her. "Okay you got me there for a second, but I find your snort cute it's different just like you."
I know this chapter is short, but that's because I'm stumped and it's been a while since I published a chapter. There will be more in the next chapter I promise.
