September in Minnesota

The morning is bright with cool crisp air

The sun shines briefly on Gaia's hair

Warmed by the glowing of light she smiles

Happily shrouded in warmth a while

Geese honk from their gatherings on high

Moving towards the warm southern sky

The small birds forage flutter and cheep

They know the winter snow will be deep

Squirrels quite busy gathering nuts

Burying them in their hand dug ruts

Deer see corn in fields fully ripened

They only desire a small stipend

Fall has confirmed its colorful fame

Turning the leaves of trees into flame

I love the fall and all that it brings

September in Minnesota sings!
