Your passing silenced my every reason to live
I now question God's own master plan
Wherein I was once resolute in its certainty
Now I remain forever skeptical
There was no true sorrow until now
Yet the birds continue to fly and sing
The sky is not forever gray and cold
As I thought it must remain since that day
I cannot think it possible to ever laugh aloud again
Yet your beautiful spirit makes me smile widely
In your memory autumn shall not fade to black
The hue and contrast of life continues to endure
These things I can not seem to understand as I wait here
Looking into the ashes of my heart this September day
Watching my breath blow heated steam into the air
As what remains of you burns inside me forever
