Foreshadowed and framed
My life's darkest moments
Were always somehow out of my ability
To ever change them into anything useful
The laughing teeth of the hollow eyed masses
Dripping their false promises of hope across my floor
Portended the gloomy truths within themselves
The everlasting emptiness of despair hangs heavily
Yet through the dim, glum, darkness of this selfish perversity
A noble light shines its beacon of hope
Splashing beautiful color spray against
The blackness of my innermost soul
This single light of hope,
This ray of unbending sunshine
This beacon for wayward ships
Is nothing more than the smile you gave me this morning
