Till You Put Me Down

The distinct chatter had began to fade from existence as your eyes dialated, refusing to shift from the floor toward any object or student that had moved. Although you sat frozen, your mouth still had the tendency to slowly chew on a strip of watermelon flavored gum.
It was almost as if a required habit that both you and Bakugou chewed on a strip daily, one or the other offering one another the bubblegum.
The clock had few minutes left to strike before a bell would sound, declaring that everyone finally had the right to leave and head home. Few would spend the weekend partying with friends, whipping out either alcohol or drugs in order to 'feel what life had to offer'.
Meanwhile, you planned to sit in your room and either sleep soundly in a bundle of blankets gathered from each and every room, or read stories written by other fans that you'd find yourself crying over.
Either way, why did it matter what you did? You'd still end up wallowing in your own filth on Sunday night, anxious for Monday morning to come.
You couldn't help but notice your friend growing furious, whom you considered an enemy at the same time. Odd.
He slammed his palm against your desk, causing your eyes to return to their casual, less blurry state.
You looked up to view the boy, whom uncomfortably tugged at his middle school uniform, the black folds hugging his frame.

"Fucking brat, did you even hear me?" He scoffed.

This forced him into a state of annoyance, which had his hand running through his messy ash-blonde hair. His beady red eyes returned to your figure after repeatedly scanning the room, in search of something to look at.
Truth was, he hated looking at you.

"What is it, Bakugou?" You asked, your voice laced with a hint of annoyance.

"Tch. Don't talk to me like that," He mumbled angrily.

You gave him a half-lidded glare that nearly drove the boy insane, and although his lips turned upward, he  formed a crooked frown of dissaproval.

"Are we walking home together or what?" He asked gruffly, turning his head before placing his chin upon his palm, his elbow resting on his desk in order to support the very position.

"Dawe, Bakugou doesn't wanna walk home on his own~?" You teased with a cheek splitting grin.

He turned to you, practically snapping his neck before he had snapped a reply.

"You've got it all wrong, brat. You were the one that asked me the other day!" He retorted.

You tsked, recalling asking him several weeks ago about walking home together, since you both practically took the same route. But you hadn't asked the other day, especially since it just seemed to be a new habit the two of you happened to form.

Before you could respond, another student had popped into your conversation meant for two, producing a small wave of his hand as he performed a series of smiles that would fade into an insecure smirk before returning to a casual smile once more.

"Hey, (L/N)!" Izuku chimed.

"Hey, Midoriya," You replied plainly.

Although it weren't much of a hello, the boy couldn't help but grow excited at the fact that he had actually gotten a response.
He weren't that far from where you sat. In fact, he were close enough to not only catch a whiff of the watermelon flavored gum you chewed, but he took a second to cherish the scent.

"Get lost, Deku," Bakugou growled almost automatically.

Izuku jumped at this, grasping the straps to his yellow bag. He then nodded as soon as Bakugou had stood, fists at his side. Although the green-haired male practically pleaded to be by your side, he took off, sure to keep watch from a distance.
Bakugou sat back down before looking at you, curious as to whether or not your face would represent if you disapproved or approved of chasing off the nerd.
He only found himself admitting to himself that he still hated looking at you.
It weren't because he simply hated you. But it were more so the way you'd look at him in return. Your (E/C) irises normally wide as though you actually payed attention to the boy. He weren't use to this, nor was he use to the smiles you'd offer every now and again. Such things made him feel as though he was bound to have a heart attack.
Each action you'd perform and each word that had left your mouth would leave the boy nearly speechless. Looking at you as you did these things would then leave him flustered, his face may as well become a cover for the next 50 Shades Of Grey. This time, they'd call it 50 Shades of Red.
Others would often join him just to keep their asses from being picked on or made fun of by the explosive boy himself, but you joined him because you enjoyed his company. You even admitted to liking the way his voice would crack at times, like the flares that would ignite in his palms when activitaing his quirk.
The boy even found himself having fantasies about the two of you becoming the greatest heroes. You, being his trusty side kick, of course.
Your quirks fit hand in hand. With a wave of ice-like crystals that contained air produced by your hands, he'd use his own quirk to send an explosive burst of flares in the direction, causing the ice to shatter in a devastating blast of glass like material that'd shower the many villains you were destined to fight
side by side.

The male would then stand atop a pile of debree, carrying you bridal style after the dreadful fight. You'd then open your eyes, unaware of not only the amount of damage you'd taken but the fact that you were saved by Bakugou himself.

"My hero," You'd coo in his chest.

Although, now that the two of you were in high school, his fantasies changed greatly.
Such days only remained as memories, though.
Izuku often found himself watching you exit the classroom after the bell would ring, sending many out the door in a fit of excitement. You'd leave beside Bakugou, someone Izuku despised of greatly. But to make up for it, you'd remove the ABC gum from the inside of your cheek, dropping it inside the empty trashcan on your way out.
And just as soon as everyone would have left, Midoriya found himself lunging at the can, reaching his hand inside in order to retrieve the green colored candy.
Few things never tend to change.
Bakugou still enjoyed slipping pieces of the same flavored gum to you daily, recieving few in return every now again. Although, the pieces you chewed would later turn up in the hands of Izuku Midoriya.
He also awaited the end of each day, in which the two of you would then take a train home with one another. Although he preferred walking the distance you'd walk back in middle school, UA was located much further from home. Izuku happened to take the same train, though. Not because he lived nearby, not even close. He just found that being on the same train as you would bring a giddy skip to his step, and although his hands would shake as his face grew hot, the high he had gotten from eyeing your figure happened to excite him in ways that left him smiling oddly.
