Narcolepsy, by definition:

"A condition characterized by an extreme tendency to fall asleep whenever in relaxing surroundings."

"Alright Her, I gotta go and uhh...be safe, okay? Last time you had an episode you almost..." Michael trailed off, messing with his hoodie sleeves.

Jeremy put his hands on Michael's shoulders. "Hey, I'll be fine. If anything happens, someone will get you for me."

Michael nodded, seemingly to himself. "Okay...Brooke knows the code word?"

Jeremy nodded.

"Good."

The bell rang overheard, signalling that 4th period was about to begin. Michael and Jeremy did some complex best friend dance before Michael ran off to catch up with Evan, Jeremy's stepbrother.

Then, Jeremy felt someone jump on his shoulders and he chuckled. "Hey Brooke, you ready to go?"

"No."

"Too late, off we go," Jeremy held her up and walked to their shared class. Ever since Jeremy for rid of the squip, his narcoleptic state came back at such a force that it was a usual occurrence. Michael, Jeremy, and Brooke all agreed that Brooke switch her classes to be in Jeremy's class A) so that the teacher wouldn't be as suspicious and B) Michael would get to leave class and help Jeremy, therefore giving him some free time (Michael liked this fact the most).

It all began when Jeremy was around 7 and he still had his mom and dad. They were all messing around in the basement when an argument broke out and in a fit of rage, Mrs. Heere threw a 10lb weight off in some random direction. The fighting immediately stopped when there was an ear piercing screech, then silence.

Jeremy was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered he had some damage to the skull. Unfortunately, it couldn't be fixed but Jeremy was able to recover. Because of how the weight hit his forehead, it caused part of his skull to press down on his brain, increasing pressure on it. The lasting symptoms included headaches and sleep spells, also known as Narcolepsy.

Jeremy learned to live with it and the problems it came with, but he still had his days and now that the squip had messed with his brain a lot, they were more frequent than ever.

On the way to class, Jeremy stumbled and nearly dropped Brooke.

"Jeremy?" She asked, worried.

"Nono..I'll- I'll be fine. I promise," he shook his head and got to their class, setting Brooke down and walking inside. They sat down next to each other and class began.

Throughout the class, Brooke kept close watch on Jeremy. At one point he slowly lowered his head down and fell asleep. Brooke sighed, at least he was still in his seat.

"Mr. Heere!" Jeremy's head snapped up and he looked around the room, confused.

The teacher glared at him. "Since you're so keen on slacking of in class, you must clearly know the answer to this problem. Come to the board and answer for everyone." (Deadass hate teachers like this like bitch stfu no you're just very boring and I barely sleep)

Jeremy, still confused, nodded and stood up, swaying slightly. The surrounding students started snickering at his behavior but Brooke was practically gripping her journal at this point.

Jeremy took a couple of steps and blinked, swaying dangerously. The students' laughing slowly died down as they contiuned to watch.

"B-Brooke...Reeves," Jeremy muttered.

The students broke out in laughter but Brooke leaped out of her seat, trying to get around to Jeremy.

Jeremy fell to the ground, hitting his head on the corner of desk on the way down. The laughing instantly ceased and a few kids were even getting out of their seats to attempt to help.

Brooke crouched down at his side and looked at the teacher. "Michael Mell, Mr. Casey's class. Send someone to get him."

"Mrs. Lohst, I'm sure this is just some act-"

"Listen to me. I'm not asking again, send someone to get Michael or else I'll make sure people know how bad it was for you to have a student get harmed in your presence," Brooke glared at the teacher and they paled, whisking off some random student.

Minutes later, they came back and Michael rushed to Brooke's side.

"He still hasn't woken up yet?" Michael asked quietly. Brooke shook her head.

"Did he hit his head as he fell?"

"Yeah but-"

"What?! Where?"

"Forehead I think..." Brooke's eyes widened at the realization of what could be a very serious problem.

"C'mon, help me pick him up," Michael mumbled, hoisting Jeremy up on one side, Brooke on the other.

They quickly rushed Jeremy to the nurse and explained the situation. The nurse was a lot more understanding and called the hospital.

As they were explaining the details, there was a groan and Jeremy slowly sat up from the little bed in the room.

"What the hell...what happened?" Jeremy blinked and looked around the room.

Brooke squeaked in relief and pulled Jeremy into a tight hug.

"God you scared me..." She mumbled.

"I'm fine...I've got a splitting headache though..."

"Don't worry, they're gonna get you to a hospital to get you checked up and make sure nothing is wrong."

"More like nothing is worse than it already is..." Jeremy put a hand to his forehead and visibly winced. Michael pulled his hand away and pushed him down slowly.

"Just rest for now, okay?"

"Okay...thanks guys."

Wow this was actually trash but what can you do about it?
